It will be very interesting to read about all of the changes and I hope it really breaths life into the sales for Polaris, but having said that no matter what they do it still won't change my love for the Slingshot I have - - even now almost three years after I brought her home and I still feel like a kid with a new toy every time I look at her - in all of my years and all of my vehicles owned this is the only where the newness and that excitement that goes with it has never faded
I will be interested in seeing if the lights become something that gets adapted to our older slings by one of our great vendors
Anyway - - - Happy New Year!!!!
I hope you all have a a great year filled with Gods Love
I am really hoping that Polaris makes radical changes to the SlingShot, thus keeping our 2015 that much more unique and distinctive!

Let's just wait & see
There are 3 factors that made the SS something exclusive, the need for a motorcycle endorsement, discretionary income, and the standard shift (not many people under 50 have experience with standards). I always felt special. On a purely selfish note, some of this exclusivity will be gone with the introduction of an automatic. A lot more Jane or Joe Blows will be driving around, with sometimes inferior driving skills. I ain't a happy camper, but am happy for those few that really require an auto version for any special needs.

Around my neck of the woods there are a lot of country raised kids that know how to drive a standard transmission. Possibly the more densely populated city areas that don't know what a farm is can't drive standard but most farm kids grew up knowing this.
I think the new headlights definitely look interesting at first glance but I really like my halos. Might have to see them in person or what everybody is doing to them before I could consider losing the halos.
video will not download to play. is there a different link available
WE ARE IN! Got the tickets, Flights, car, Room,Etc. Looking for an excuse to go now we have one. WHO else is going, Vegas Baby!

Very few farm kids will have/want to spend 30K on a toy that they can't ride on a farm...The Automatic will attract Nimrods......Get ready for more pictures of Slingshot's in ditches.......
Yea, this changes their whole market.

at a certain point our slingshots are going to look out of style.....the new lights sure changed things....remember when old cars had round headlights and the new cars had cool square ones.
With big changes comes bigger prices....
I am really surprised that this is not creating more chatter than it is, I would have expected post after post of excited speculation??
Bill
I don't see much to get excited about. I'm waiting to see what engine they have in it. As far as a digital dash, I'm not interested. I like analog. And I'm more into riding then how it looks. One last thing, I don't expect that many current slingshot owners are going to be too interested in an automatic but sales will tell. I have a paddle shift Vette and I've never used it more than once just to see how it works.

And what did you think? Would you use it for a quick launch?
Never had to do a quick launch so I can't tell you. Damn car is fast enough without using the paddle shift
