I have no plans of ever towing my slingshot with its three wheels on the ground, but if you really wanted to wouldn't it be easier to just remove the drive belt?
The Aisin transmission has an internal oil pump driven by the flywheel-side input to lubricate the upper shaft bearings... If you roll the rear wheel *without* removing the drive belt, it will ruin the bearings in the upper shaft.

Like I posted earlier, I was mistaken in my reading of the original post int he Goblin Forums. I almost deleted the entire thread once I realized my error. Thanks for the clarifying info about the transmission.

I don’t have room for a trailer.....and this was a good option for me considering the pros and cons....
If I tow it this way...I can put the lift in the bed of my pick up. When done towing. The lift is in my garage right now.
keep in mind...you need to keep the steering wheel from turning while towing. And you need to put red towing lights on the front of the SS ...for brakes and turn signals...
Kev provides wireless lights for this.
it would be beneficial to have a SS spare front tire and rim with you....in case of a flat.
I took my spoiler off to make sure I had enough ground clearance....8 easy to get at bolts.

The fun part of the "trip" is driving the Slingshot to your destination. I do trailer in Jan (winter) to Florida from Northern Indiana.

I must disagree. Long trips on the Interstate are boring enough to me, and the Slingshot is definitely not designed for long stretches of slab driving, so I definitely prefer towing the Slingshot. Plus, my Wife will want transportation of her own once we reach our destination and I'm riding while she will prefer doing something else. Finally, we don't see any point of individually driving separate vehicles when we're going to the same destination. Towing uses less gas and allows drivers to split the driving for less fatigue.

Good point. I bought @kev's tow dolly since I lack room for a full-size trailer. Unfortunately, the tow dolly isn't really designed to be towed empty and has a tendency to want to bounce when empty, but it won't fit inside my tow vehicle (2013 Ford Edge).

I believe their are two styles that are offered, one has its own wheels and the other works off the hitch only so requires a heavy duty truck.

you have to worry about the height of the hitch.....edge might be too low ground clearance wise....
