No idea how long one boot has been bad and other getting there. 2015 SL - can any mechanic change the boots or does it have to go to a dealer? Would rather not wait who knows how long for appointment with dealer 2 hours away. Thanks in advance!

Anita, from what I’ve seen on the suspension I don’t see anything that would require a trip to a dealer to get this done. Any capable mechanic should be able to handle the job.

boot is $38....
looking at the drawing.....you might need an alignment after that.....it’s hard to tell exactly how it goes on from the grainy pictures.....
but I’m thinking the rod end screws out of the boot...I could be wrong .....if the mechanic counts the turns when unscrewing it then he can count them going back in and the alignment shouldn’t change... -
