Is anyone funneling heat from the engine into the cockpit for cold weather?

Technically it is an engine. Motors typically run on electricity or hydraulics. Engines create mechanical energy from heat, like steam and internal combustion.

Quite common and effective on snowmobiles. In the Slingshot you can just pull in to ***insert fast food joint of choice***.

i've thought putting a small heater core in my SS

but it seems simpler and cheaper to wear heated clothes. I have everything from a simple heated vest, to a snowmobile outfit.

this'll be the 1st winter with my SS, but I used to commute in 20* weather on my BMW R1100RT enginecycle. if the roads were dry, I was riding.

I ride a lot when temps are below 30° and if I'm just our for an hour or so generally don't even use the heated vest. 'long johns' and good jacket. That's the thing that is great about the Slingshot riding in cooler temps works.

After installing our MeanSling Sport Top we have found that we are utilizing it to help keep the passenger compartment warmer and more comfortable when the temps drop. For extended rides in cooler temps Justina uses a heated jacket, I just layer up.

with our average highs being in the 70''s in our coldest months it would not be worth the effort to worry about heating the cockpit for the one or 2 times a year I might like it - heck its such a rare thing I havent even bothered investing in long johns

I live in SE PA and bought my SL last February. Have a top and +9 windshield. Was able to ride comfortably in the cold as long as I dressed for the weather. Added some Baker Air Wings and when open they are great when it is hot and when closed block more air when it is cold.

I had a Vanderhall with a heater and it wasn't worth squat above 20mph as the wind sucked it out.
