It's the same as any bluetooth connection. Your phone needs to be in pairing mode and within device range to accept the connection. This is a one time deal to achieve this. Once a bluetooth connection is made with a smartphone it's always remembered and connects unless you physically click "unpair" or "forget device".

Nothing in this thread has said anything about updating the device. SlingMods comment did refer to updating the phone app, not the device and yes, that would be done through your phone.

Why don't you just have Painter change the color to RED and you won't have to add tricks to make you think it's faster when everyone KNOWS that the RED ones are faster already?

Installed the Pedal Commander and all seemed good for a few seconds and when I started to take off, my engine light came on and the pedal cdr quick working. I turned off my SS and reinstalled the Pedal Cdr. It seems to work but cannot get the engine light to go off. Any recommendations without taking it to the dealership? (Maybe disconnecting and reconnecting the battery)

Disconnect the battery for 10 minutes.
Try starting it up at least 3 times as well.
