I am attempting to wire some extra brake leds to the back fin. I have tried to wire a relay into the brake switch ( napa mechanical ) and not having luck. I believe the 12volt feed from the switch goes dead when pedal is pressed which dosnt seem to give a trigger to relay no matter how i seem to wire it in. What am i doing wrong. Please explain if you have done this

I recommend you try to get ahold of ericastar76 from what I have seen she is pretty much an expert on all things electrical with the Slingshot. I am sure she could help you

This is a good post by Erica on wiring a relay. What was today's Sling project-Mods , goodies.....?
I also found lots of good images about relays via google images.

Not sure what kind of configuration you want... but the actual brake switch is a negative circuit (meaning, power is NC [normally closed ~> i.e. constantly powered] and when the pedal gets pressed, it opens the switch to break the connection/triggers the break light module). I would suggest catching this trigger later on in the function cycle (from the module at the rear of the sling) and use a separate relay to power the lights when triggered.
I made a video on this a while back on a build I did for a customer... https://www.facebook.com/erica…/2446820742271647?sfns=mo
I you need a custom plug/play harness for your particular light setup, just let me know.

Thanks ericastar76 I will look at the back module and see where I can grab a trigger wire. Thanks
