Sounds like something crashed while loading the drivers for the thumb drive. If it's bigger than 16gb, it may not be able to read it properly. I know there was talk on here months ago about 8gb vs 16gb drives. My 2019 came with the 16gb stick, but some technicians told people on older models to only use 8gb or smaller.
No clue if it will fix it for you, but a thought.
Might also try re-formatting the usb and copy songs back to it.

What format does the USB need to be in?
FAT 32
NTFS
Extended FAT
?
FAT 32 I'm sure... most older techs don't do exFat and nothing hardly does NTFS anymore
If in doubt, check the owners manual
I don't know NOTHING...I just bought some CD music I like burned it to the computer and than sync it to the thumb drive and works perfect....
Most of the guys would tell you that the music I like was made before they had any type of recording devices......

I'd try a different one, different brand if you can.
It's the 8 gb drive that comes with the SS. Says SLINGSHOT on it.
I going to delete all but 10 songs and try that.
Also will try on another one I have laying around.
My guess is that it will work with another drive. I remember reading a debate about what the Polaris supplied drive is for and there was no conclusion. It's likely tied up with proprietary info or formatting and can't be used for general storage. I have experienced this when I get closing docs for a real estate transaction on a USB drive. It gets locked up in the process and can't be reused for other purposes. Good luck openair !
The one i received with my 2019 was a standard USB, formatted FAT32 and had nothing on it. Mine is a base, so no infotainment. It was also a 16gb with the 2019's

Have you tried putting music on it and playing it in a stock infotainment system? If it works, that could point to a faulty unit in openair 's Sling.
I have a 16gb playing in mine with no issues...
Nope, don't know anyone with the fancy radio, and there is really only 1 sling close to me, he has a base as well.
