I may be too proactive...
But, my aircraft always came home.
Nope!
If it doesn't feel right, sound right, or look right...
It requires investigation.
Machines can't talk...
but, they do complain and you should listen.

Talked to a guy this afternoon that says he brought his c-131 back on one engine in Vietnam

Lucky fellow!
It helps if the aircraft has better glide ratio than one to one (layman's term... for every mile forward you travel, you fall one mile)
Considering the C-131 is a two engine aircraft and he had to drag one back...
It probably took the ground crew a week to pry his ass out of the seat... one tight sphincter!
Was any of that caused by abuse?
What is this ABUSE of which you speak? If you ain't riding it close to the edge, you ain't riding it brother
I don't own a trailer and I am going to be in Huntsville next week. 893 miles from here to Decatur and going to try it in one day. If I poop out I will just find a hotel and catch some ZZZs and continue in the early AM. I love driving the sling and if KayTwo could do it last year, by gosh I can do it this year. I am sure looking forward to shaking the hands of so many people that I have read about here. See a lot of you soon.
I just got the brake caliper kit, the kit to compress the brake pads. Hell it did not cost but $22. We will be changing my pads again (Hawk 5.0) and installing the 5.0's on @Summer Breeze's Sling. Night and Day difference in the stock pads, I might even change the rotors to a set that I was gifted from kenny_h. Well you know at 83,000 miles I might need to change the pads, even though I do not use the brakes but very little.
I have followed you before.
I don’t know why, you don’t use brakes anyway, why start now.
JUST SAYIN
This is Chris and he is the Service Manager at Champion Powersports that worked till the problem was resolved.
What happened to your steering wheel? Looks like a tornado came over and left all the dirt on it.

That's not dirt! Those are sweaty, grimy Panda paw marks from wrestling with manual steering.

Just a weird angle the pic was taken I guess. It's just like it was when new .

He just tore it all apart working on his steering SoCal
(No pandas were harmed at this event)

Miss Nancy and I walked up on Rabtech as he was trying to diagnose the issue in Maggie.
“Don’t need this wire or this one. Don’t need this system, rip it out.” It was frightening to watch...

That's called "diagnosis by destruction".
It's all working now. I'm building back all the switches on my dashboard now. Its 2am and I have a wire crimps and a label maker going. I had it absolutely perfect when I arrived at Maggie Valley and one by one I cut every circuit thinking my steering might come back to life.
Good luck!
Well, yeah...
Just happens at different times...
