I learned something about buying bedding a few years ago. About 9 or 10 years ago I got tired of killing memory foam and spring style mattresses. I bit the bullet and bought the "middle range" sleep number king size mattress. I don't remember the cost but it was a pretty healthy investment. It was a great decision. She keeps her side aired up to 30 or 40 and mine stays on 80 or 90. I ocasionally take the bed apart and clean up everything and vacuum out all of the box spring area crevices and every part is still just like new. If you have been on the fence trying to decide about a sleep number mattress just get it and enjoy.
Now as for this Chilipad,,,, this is a brand new toy and i need to give it a few weeks to test it. If it does what it says then we will have a winner. If not, I'll pack it up and send it back. I have killed probably 2 or 3 of the $150.00 heating blankets. I'll pull on them at night and the heating strips just tear loose. So I thought about it a while and due to the added benefit of it cooling and heating I though I would give it a try. And it has a 2 year warranty.
Can you get a model that fits in a seat cover? I figure you could put a small radiator inside the roll hoop, spray it down with water before driving for evaporation cooling, low speed pump to plug into the 12V system.
The BedJet might also be worth checking out. I haven't bought one, but have been thinking about trying one. It uses cooled/warmed air to help control your sleeping environment. It requires special top sheets designed to connect to the BedJet unit for the cooled/warmed air. Available from http://www.bedjet.com or Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/BedJet-…e-Mattress/dp/B01BMCWJ7G/) and other retailers.
