My 2017 just started with this error, happens intermittently. Called yesterday and they're ordering the parts. Did your dealer bleed the brakes when you took yours in for this service? Did your brakes work better afterwards?

My dealer took care of it. Replaced the fluid and bled the brakes. Can’t say that it stops any better. But, the work fine.

Same with mine. Dealer replaced the brake sensor and bled the brakes twice. I still have a bit of a spongey feel and need to have them re bled as I get good pedal pressure if I pump the pedal twice.

We have had no complaints about our brakes on our 2015 since new. We did ultimately get the warning light, the dealer replaced the sensors and did the secondary brake bleed, which eliminated the light and give us a somewhat better pedal feel. Over the years I have got to sense that most of the misgivings are from folks that have had little to no experience with non-boosted brakes?

Have you installed one of these yet? It removes some of the spongy issue. Most of us have installed one....

There can also be some air bubbles in the ABS unit...

This is mine. You can notice a difference in how much more solid the pedal feels when you apply the brakes.

This was an early attempt to treat a symptom, if the brakes are properly serviced then there is no reason for installing an additional auxiliary brake cylinder brace.

To be clear, the brace has nothing to do with the actual braking power/stopping power. It keeps the master cylinder from moving in and out because of the firewall flexing when the brakes are applied. Which could be perceived as a mushy brake pedal.

It you tend to drive hard and fast the brace is worth every penny. If you want to know how much your firewall flexes just pop the hood and watch the flex when you mash the brake pedal. If you want the best brakes for the money, also add the Hawk 5.0 brake pads. They are dusty but the difference is night and day.

Maybe it is what somebody is used to, personally, the brakes on the Grasshopper are superior to our other two vehicles with manual brakes. I have had to dynamite the brakes on two separate occasions, (once for deer, another when a tree blew over right in front of us), and both times the anti-locking system engaged, so I cannot see how you can get any better than that?
