I've had my Slingshot apart, hooking up gauges. I wanted to "Y" off the oil pressure idiot light, but GM saw fit not to make it the standard 1/8-27 pipe thread like nearly every sending unit out there. So for now, I just omitted running the oil pressure gauge and hooked up the rest. I was trying to wrap it up tonight, and must have rushed it a bit. I didn't get the throttle body wire hooked up, and cycled the ignition (did not attempt to start). Got engine code 65602, so I looked it up in my manual. "Throttle position sensor out of range". Went and looked, yep, the plug was laying on the place to plug in, but wasn't actually plugged in. Ignition was off, so I plugged it in and cycled it again. Engine light on, same code. I cycled it 20 times, even started it and throttle seems to work fine. But engine light and the same code is still on. I know sometimes the battery can be unhooked and it will clear codes after setting for some time. Hoping it will correct itself with a little driving (think cycling, but it's not quite together yet, hopefully out some tomorrow evening and again Thursday). Anyone have this happen, and have advice on what I can expect? I really don't want to go to a dealer to clear the code. I think the problem is fixed, other than the code is still showing up (first engine code I've gotten). I'm planning to drive to scootertrash 's place Saturday for wrench day. I doubt that there will be anything there to clear codes, but I'm getting a laser alignment and helping others with wrench day.
On a separate issue, is there anywhere that is existing that I can hook up an oil pressure sending unit to?
