I have taken the four (4) screws (bolts) that hold the Polaris Slingshot audio panel faceplate several times for different mods. The head of a couple of the screws are beginning to strip and it is getting harder to remove them. Have someone replaced these screws with something better or do I need to order these from Polaris?

Personally I would just replace them with some stainless steel allen head screws. My local Ace hardware has a great selection of such things.

Ace is the place with the biggest selection of any other place that I have found except Amazon. The last special screws that I ordered from Amazon had to come from China and took about 2 months, I could not find them anywhere else.

Per Polaris, they are part SCR-HXBH-M4X0.7X30 10.9 ZPB so looks like m4 x 30? https://www.polarispartsmonste…s-49slingshotsound14sling
From the pic, looks like they are a security hex or torx screw (has that small raised bit in the center), so you need a hex that has a hole in it. Looks like this if you don't have one : https://www.ebay.com/itm/Titan…-Pack-of-13-/332718327933
Of course, they make the same for torx.
If you knew all of this, sorry, trying to educate in case people don't know.

so, like I said, run to Ace and pickup 4 m4 x 30 SS allen head screws - probably cost you less than than just one from polaris and it will look better

Those bit sets are the best to have in your tool box, I have all three sets. Northern Tool has them if you have one close by. They also have a very, very stubby rachet ( 1/4 in.) that works perfect with these sets, it is maybe 3 inches long. I used it so much I went back to get another one and now they have the same thing with 1/4 on one side and 3/8 on the other, so I bought that one instead.

I just went out to the garage and looked at mine and they do not have the raised thing in the center . 2.5mm allen wrench fits right in

Thanks. I will stop by our local Ace Hardware tomorrow. If I don't find a good replacement, I will have to order them from Polaris.
