I can tell you this. If I had hair I would have pulled it all out the first day with these clear learning locks. However if you keep at it and get some regular Kwikset and Schlage door locks it will be easier. The practice locks have a lot of slack in them and they dont have the metallic feel that a regular lock does. The practice locks are real metal locks but they are set in acrylic and it kinda numbs the feel that you are trying to feel for.
Apparently lockpicking is kind of a sporting event. People have huge outings where they get together and try to make and open locks of all types.
I started to let Lewis have the whole set when I first got the pick set.
