Display MoreI've had enough seat time now to give a decent review of my snailax heated / cooling seats.
These seat cushions ($53 on Amazon) remind me of the old wire cushions that were popular years ago. Very firm, comfortable and flexible enough to conform to the slingshot seat. The cushion has straps etc to attach it, but these work poorly with the Slingshot seats - fortunately, they aren't needed.
One bonus, the flap that hangs between your knees and covers the fan motor has a nice pocket, FWIW, its large enough to conceal a full-size 1911 and still keep it instantly available. 🤠
You DO sit higher and farther forward by at least an inch, maybe more. To me, this is the biggest negative. I like the deep bucket style of the SLR seats, you lose some of the bolstered effect of the seats with these cushions.
These cushions work with a motor that is located between your knees. It draws air in and pumps it into a bladder under the seat & behind your back. There is no actual "air conditioning", it's all ambient air. When it is cool out, you definitely feel cooling effects. When it is warmer, you won't notice this, but the airflow will definitely dry up sweat on your thighs & back. Sooo much more comfortable when you get out of the seat! As the Captain says: "No more motza ball soup!" 😄
Some have complained about fan motor noise. This is nonsense. You can hear it if the sling is off, not so much if its running, not at all if you are in motion.
One other problem is with the control. It has LEDs to show power, heating, and cooling; but nothing shows if you are on high, medium, or low. It's really hard to tell if you are moving.
Worth $50, yeah, absolutely. Especially as I ride in cool, even cold weather several months of the year. Haven't tried this in heating mode yet, but I'm thinking that it will be a real boon come fall.

I told you Doc&Ruby it will work thinking bout hanging one of those ice packs in frt of fan, what you think?
Would certainly be worth a try. The pocket in front of the fan is a mesh like material, you could probably drop a blue ice pack in there easy.
I think I have one of those, I'll give it a try and let you know.
Probably have to be today, we're expecting rain tonight, and then every day till next Thursday!

Got my Ventisits in today from kev and they look great. chavey2 and I will be testing them out on the ride to Huntsville. I expected them to compress a bit more than they did, but they do not, they hold my fat ass up just fine, should allow plenty of airflow through it.
More to come after our ride in.

Just installed my Ventisits and with the heat index around 104 today I still felt a cool airflow at my back and bottom side

We have a few hundred miles on them now, my backside has not sweated at all. The sling is reporting 93 - 95 degrees.
One drawback is that they don’t form well and after two hours, I needed a stretch.
Not quite as comfortable as the 2019 stock seats, which I can go all day and not be sore
Would still buy them again. No sweat is wonderful

New use for my snailax vented seats...
Mowed 5 ac today, 4+ hours on John Deere. Quite hot, 88-90 deg & somewhat humid. Not as pleased with the seat as I thought I would be. Still sweating, but not as much. Tractor is much like the Slingshot in that hot motor & exhaust just inches from the firewall.... and you are never going more than 8 mph, so no breeze.
Have to wait for fall, see how they are in warming mode.
Nice view of the ranch... everything you can see from here is ours! 🤠

Try a battery-powered fan in front of you. Ryobi makes nice hybrid corded/battery fan that uses their 18V One+ battery system that moves a decent amount of air. It can be hung on a wall, so I'd assume it could be mounted to your tractor. I bought several from Home Depot to use during power failures when we lose AC. I like having different tools that all use the same batteries, so i have a wide variety of different battery sizes that came with different tools.

Saw one of the VOS guys at homecoming that had these, he says that they are the next best thing to sliced bread : https://www.amazon.com/Hand-Fr…chargeable/dp/B07PLFHQJ5/
I'd have to trim my beard back before trying them, LOL
