2018-19 seat belt recall

Polaris really can't catch a break........
-
Called my dealership this week about the seat belt recall. They said that they were going to order the new part and replace mine. They are going to call when the part arrives and schedule a appointment for the install. Said I could wait while they installed the new part. One hour install.

Looks like a quality control issue.

Just one article you have read but yet so quick to make judgement!
Sounds like Polaris is expanding the earlier seat recalls to include latter years? Though, I do not believe that I have actually heard anybody returning here having found a defective seat or latch?

When I purchased my '19, the dealer held it for an extra week to do the seatbelt upgrade before I could pick it up. There is now a seat weld recall out (I got THAT notice a day after I brought Ruby home from the shop for clutch issues.) I don't think I'm going to go back in for seat weld recall unless I have to do other service.
I drove around for years in a '73 Maverick with the floor almost totally rotted out - if I survived that, I think I'll survive this.
-
If you do a search about the previous seat recall you will find that you can do a quick inspection of your seats yourself for piece of mind.

Thanks, Bill - I'll try that!

We already went through the missing weld thing.....look at the date of the article....if it happened yesterday it sounds new to me.....newer years involved....
I didn’t write the article ....

No need to guess - details are published on NHTSA website https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls#vehicle
says ...
Polaris Industries, Inc. (Polaris) is recalling certain 2017-2019 Polaris Slingshot S, Slingshot SL, Slingshot GT LE, and Slingshot
SLR motorcycles. In the event of a crash, the seatbelt retractor on the side opposite of the impact may separate, preventing the
seatbelt from locking.https://www.nhtsa.gov/vehicle/2019/POLARIS/SLINGSHOT#recalls

I noticed that when I got serviced for the seatbelt recall, the new latch was significantly bigger, sturdier than before. Sadly, don't have before/after photos.
