Drive much slower in the rain. (obviously)
Seriously they will get out from under you in a hurry so my personal recommendation is to pull off soon as you can and grab a bite to eat somewhere and try to wait it out. I know that isn't always possible. But it's the best advice I have for anyone.

SS bad weather driving thoughts
I am never one to pull over in any weather and usually challenge myself in bad weather.
But that was with 2 wheel motorcycles and now see others with SS having accidents and just
out of no where it happens and story after story.
And also know that with turbo SS the power comes in nicely but with rain it will brake rear wheel
more faster even when you think it isn't taking place.
And when you are tired and thinking of others and wondering if you can get away with just few more miles.
So at 65 yrs old will listen and slow down and if heavy rain exist will pull over .
I do still want to wake up another day and enjoy a ride is the SS & Evora .
And after dropping 2 wheeler last year with wife, want her to not fear SS and having another
accident and enjoy what we have and wakeup another day.
Thank You every one for your thoughts on subject and lets all make it a safe trip to Maggie Valley and
live to do another one. -
Unless you have an enclosed trailer almost every arriving SS will be filthy..A cleaning or detailing vendor would "clean" up
GEEE, I wonder if I could make enough for a turbo and install hmmmmm LOL

200+ Slings , 1/2 accept your $20 to clean =$2000, figure beginning and mid week per person now you're at $4000 factor in 1 time people and SSITS discount turbo pricing..... You will conservatively be close.

Me thinks if it was a "dry" county "I could'a had a V8"

I am really hoping that we have "ATLEAST" 50% good weather...PLEASE PLEASE mother nature... spare us!

SlingRider, if its like last year it only lasted about an hour or and was hit and miss.
-
Just a little question from some light research...is maggie a dry county?
-
No there is a liqueur store about a half mile from the host hotel.

I guess if it was, we wouldn't have to worry about the rain

Accuweather is showing a shower Wed. then cloudy the rest of the trip. I am going with accuweather lol

I'm planning on taking a shower every morning

Let me just show you how accurate the online weather apps are. The Weather Channel and AccuWeather are so bad that they won't even change the daily icon when they miss the forecast completely. It has been hot and sunny with 0 clouds today and I can say it is still 100% clear. Here is the radar screenshot to prove it.
Now here is the app on my phone. Notice how it says chance of rain...
Now let's look at an hourly forcast for my area. Notice how there is no rain!
Now let's look back at another app hourly view..
You would think that if you had ONE job to do like predict the weather you could at least. CHANGE THE WEATHER ICON ON THE APP!!!

I was going to say, why was such a rainy part of the year chosen for the gathering, but then I saw this....
Looks like one of the best months of the year. Would have loved to come down and met my new SS family, but I had already planned to come down the following week with a group of my Legion Rider friends. Maybe in 2017.
Have fun and be safe!
