Anyone buy a Slingshot sight unseen?

I'm 2 hours away from Dallas, and I know we have other members in Dallas, we can get someone to go by there for you and take a look.

Grab some pics for you, look for any problems, etc.

I personally wouldn't buy it site unseen, but you can always get the info and finalize any paperwork with the dealer online, then come down to pick it up, sign paperwork and take it home.

If you buy it even if it’s guaranteed it’s a 7 hour drive to drop it off.....for repairs....my dealer won’t do anything without leaving it.....and if they have to order parts it’s even longer.....

I highly doubt the have a pick up service or a loaner SS?..

If the price is right … I drove 650+ miles to buy a 2014 Lincoln Navigator in early Dec 2018. Basically made a deal over the phone with a verbal commitment on price and trade.

There are guys close buy the dealer --- check out the member map and see if you can get someone's attention. The '@' --- Staphory sends that person a notice that they have been mentioned.

Just about every S/S used or even demos that i seen.....Needed a rear tire ASAP......IV'e seen some with less than 25 hundred miles with worn rears..[Past the wear bars]......Just something to look at first....?

My 2015 at 8 months old (Feb 2015 to Sept 2015) had 16,901 miles...need a new rear tire and a little more---traded for a new 2016 which now has 56,000 miles and a couple of new rear tires. Current rear has 20,000 miles. If Tires are the only thing it needs "Buy It"...

I bought my first one 12/14 sight unseen and traded it for my second one 03/17 but I saw it on the internet at the dealership near Maggie Valley.

Bought mine sight unseen except for pictures. Did call and talk to the non Polaris dealer selling it in Ft Worth and had it shipped to me in Katy. I got a very good price and 2017 SLR was as advertised. Only had 2500 miles on it. I got a good deal but it's still buyer beware.

It's 'buyer beware' buying a brand NEW one from the dealership.... Get to know your local dealer and techs in the service dept. Coffee and donuts to the guys in the Service dept would be a good start.

Sure did. What is now DATSling was originally sold and registered in MA, then sold to me from National Motorsports in NH, and then made the 3K mile journey to me in Northern CA. First saw it on the delivery truck.

There are about 6 Slings for sale right now just on the Forums. There were at least 2 ea. 2015's for $15,000 and I think there was one for $16,000 and there was a 2016, all with almost no miles. One even has an Aluma trailer that you could buy. Just in the past few weeks

I would rather buy new with warranty but I have bought 30 to 40 k cars from the west living in NJ..and yes pictures do not tell the story.

3 of the 4 I was lucky and felt good ..but one I wanted so bad and bought it and when it arrived what a piece of shit..

And all on pictures looked beautiful..

Their are inspectors you can hire and go look at vehicles .. but everything you do to make it comfortable to purchase adds up and not including shipping.

The one vehicle I should have gone to see would have cost me 2500 to go look at it and it cost 1500 to ship it so I took the chance and was sorry.

But if you are patient and wait one will be closer to you..

Or you just make your mind up and go put deposit down and have payments and warranty and piece of mind..

through the 33 years I owned it..the convertible was last revision

and sold it to buy Lotus Evora ..

I’m on my 3rd back tire with 12,500...no burn outs ...

For as cheap as the factory tires are...a dealer should have new skins on it just to make it look like it was taken care of and they checked (serviced) it good.
