New Slingshot owner here. Just bought a 2018 SL. There are several things I want to do to configure it my way and one of those is to replace the stock horn with something that is more robust. I've looked at some airhorns but do not want to reinvent the wheel. Is there a popular horn that others have switched to? Thanks.
Man's horn wanted

You could try a Marco off of Amazon. it is about the same as the Bad Boy horns and has a higher DB ( I think about 126) just remember you should run a higher amp power wire and you can use the stock horn wire to control the relay. Pulls about 11 amps

It’s a motorcycle so they used a motorcycle horn....

Welcome W3JNP to the 'World of Slingshot Insanity' Get some seat time in before going to crazy with the mods. Some rallies coming up where you would be able to see lots of Slingshots and talk to the owners. Check out http://www.Slingshotroadstes.com
for rallies in the Poconos and in Maggie Valley.

If you plan to run above the speed of sound, a horn will be mute point.... pun intended.
Could grab a Bad Boy from Harbor Freight.
but as stated above.... probably best to run separate power lead, with relay off original horn wiring.

Most times when you have to use a horn it tends to be an after thought...IE; A nimrod cuts you off, You blow the horn after the fact...Out of frustration...Better off just using the Jersey Salute instead.....

The Marco Hurricane is lot louder than the Bad Boy that I had

Welcome W3JNP ! I use the Bad Boy and my wife has the Wolo on hers. I believe they are exactly the same. Got mine at Harbor Freight. Be sure to check out http://www.slingshotowners.com.

I've heard ericastar76 is pretty good with a man's horn... 😈

I am not going there

While you do have options to achieve “manly horn” status... may I recommend these two “womanly horns” that are guaranteed to BLOW your mind!
1. SUPER LOUD MARCO TORNADO Compact Air Horn for ALL 12V Vehicles: Motorcycles, Cars, & Trucks https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FMN90KU
^^^ hides/mounts nicely here...
2. Install a train horn!

The Marco horn will mount on the opposite side from the stock horn in the same location. You just have to run the wire to it. The mounting hole is already there.
-
Thanks to all. A Marco has been ordered.

The horns were the first thing I replaced. I used Honda Goldwing horns. Much better.

Because of the increasing high incidence rate of road rage involving retaliatory violence.....I have learned to control myself when Encountering assholes......I’m trying to prove that all “bikers” aren’t assholes....break the stereo type ...
I will use my horn to try to prevent a collision .....but not to let them know I want to kill them....
Take care when you want revenge....take a deep breath and forgive their ignorance...
Yes it can be scary....yes it can make your blood boil....use your brain....not your emotions....
Learn to anticipate that other drivers are driving like maniacs and trying to kill you...drive defensively.....
I bought an air horn from slingmods....have the stock horn hooked up two...I’m happy...
-
This is what I use, and I installed it in this position because I have a supercharge so there is room.

Just ordered an AWOOGA horn from harbor freight. Under $10. What could go wrong... I'll chime back in when I get it and hook it up. If it works it will be the cheapest mod ever for a SS.

How do I get the plug off the horn?
Went to install my new horn today and could not free the plug from the horn.
Didn't want to force things or cut the wires.
Did not see any type of lock to press or release.
Is it on that tight or did I miss something simple????
