How would spend $1000 on upgrading the slingshot?
I'm consider a ddm cold air kit
DDM Master Brace
Red pedal covers
and red belt guard
what other things would you suggest?

How big of a difference does the shocks make?
for around 1k I find these ... http://www.ddmworks.com/DDMWor…aris-Slingshot_p_823.html
100% agree, SHOCKS! I have the JRI Grand Touring shocks. I'll go back to stock when I'm selling the Sling. Then I'll sell the shocks.

What year and model SlingShot do you have?
We added the vented Madstad windshield to our 2015, but that was before Polaris started venting their stock windshields.
Our MeanSling SportTop makes the ride quieter and less turbulent, and is reasonably priced in comparison. Oh, and the MeanSling hood assist does aid in opening/closing the hood. Aw yet another thing you may want to consider the MeanSling storage bags for additional space.
Depending on your location and riding climate, you may want to invest in better tires.
If costs are not a concern:
A rear fender adds a finished look to the rear.
Personally, for the prices available, we have found the stock shocks to work just fine, but the ones that you mentioned appear to be at least a lil more reasonably priced in comparison...................
If your brakes have been bled and operating correctly, there should be no need for an additional brace.
I believe that many would also agree that there is not much to be gained by going to a cold intake system.

I agree with others, shocks make the biggest difference by far. I don't know anyone with the shocks you linked to. However, from years of being in the SS community I can tell you, no matter what aftermarket shocks people have gotten, they almost always claim it's the biggest improvement and many claim their choice is the best. The ones you linked, will surely be the best improvement you buy and upon driving others shocks you may even claim yours are better.
If you get the ones you linked, I suggest you get a HEADER over a CAI with some of extra money. I have modified two Slings and can tell you, only a header makes a bigger "seat dyno" improvement than only a CAI.
Shocks and header w/tax would be real close your $1000 budget. For a much better ride and a little extra oomph, that's not too bad. Enjoy!
Like said before.......Shocks....And ''If'' i keep the S/S i will be putting in better shocks....Anything is got to be an improvement over the stock 10 cents shocks...
Murder After Midnight here was my response to basically the same question 3 years ago.

$975.00 for gas... Get lots of seat time in before going to crazy on 'mods'

Add the DDM Short Shifter and some people will not agree with the Master Cylinder Brace but if you will be using the brakes hard you will know it is there and also add the Hawk brake pads (5.0) from DDM, they are dusty but the difference is night and day from the stock brake pads. Take my word for it, you will not need the big brake kit. Take my word for it.
A thousand dollars is a good "toe test" of the pool.
Just be careful at the edge...
We sneaky ones can push you in over your head.
What do you want out of your Slingshot?
Comfort and leisure, performance and handling, daily driver?
If you don't know, the rest of us are just gonna be spending your money.
Just to make it easier on you...
Send us your credit card numbers and wait by the door for UPS.

You have got that right airoutlaw. The biggest thing is your driving style or if you just want to dress to impress.
Depends on what you consider important.....looks, handling, safety...
I chose adding $1500 on lighting to make me more visible to other drivers....ride, performance and looks came later.....
Think about all the idiots that must text and other distractions while they drive...
Shocks are a good question, I haven't felt the need to put them on my 2019 SS. It rides great (I think) and doesn't sway in sharp turns.
Is it possible I just don't care, or maybe Polaris has put better quality shocks on in the newer models?
I still want some adjustable with a controller, so just curious.
The biggest difference I noticed with upgraded shocks was in dips, bumps and railroad tracks. My low back was taking a beating. It may have been okay to just swap out the rear, but I put QA-1s all the way around. First thing was no more bone jarring bumps. Second was flatter cornering. Having the extra adjusments is a bonus! Cruising is set for comfort, and with just a couple knob clicks it's ready for low level flying.
From what I see out there the DDM kit is the biggest bang for the buck. The other set only changes ride height. Other than looks, there's not much reason to do that in my opinion.
