As the article mentioned, SEMA has been thinking about filing suit against NHTSA to get the FAST Act implemented. The FAST Act would allow many specialty manufacturers who currently offer kit cars to also offer fully-assembled vehicles for sale to their customers, greatly increasing home-grown American manufacturing and would be a big boost for companies like Superformance or Factory Five Racing. This also raises a question about the FAST Act - Could a small company like Factory Five offer 325 fully-assembled models of each of their six or so models, or would they be restricted to a maximum of 325 fully-assembled vehicles per manufacturer?
