Digital Gauges

  • My end goal would be something like the Autometer Dashlink https://www.autometer.com/dash…es-apple-ios-android.html but it uses the OBDII port to gain this info.

Alternatively, I could go with traditional gauges and may if I can't find something to fit what I'm looking for. I'm a geek/nerd and would rather have something I can adjust the display with, set alarms, logging, etc. The Haltech is an option, and I considered it until I read that you lose cruise control, and there are just times when I want the cruise, plus the SO will want the cruise when she's driving.

With the https://obd2allinone.com/mefi6scan.asp setup, the data is obviously there, but I don't want to use a laptop or even build a setup with display in our little cockpit, just not enough room.

Has anyone delved into this realm any or know of anyone working on it? I have a new 2019 and I'm still scratching the Mod itch... :)

  • "Mod itch" very addictive --- don't know of any one who has beat it. I did manage to handle the 12 step AA … may consider putting together a 12 step 'MA' but I don't know anyone who would consider joining...

  • I do not have a top and have one partialdigital gage. It's all about where you mount it and the angle it's on. I originally wanted to mount gauges on the black "dash" above the factory cluster but those leave it on an upward angle which will always get reflection and if you mount them facing straight on the windshield support same issue. The 2 best places I've used so far is in a pod with a sun shade directly in front of you right behind the windshield and to the right of the factory gauge cluster under the "dash" but even that gets blocked a bit by the steering wheel.

I do not know if it supports cruise control or not but you could look into a fuel tech stand alone. Most of them are about the same price as the Haltech PCM with their gauge cluster, some are more some are less, but its a full color customizable display that's all contained in the digital dash. You can check them out here https://www.fueltech.net/collections/ecus
