By the way, we just returned from a lil hundred mile return trip home from the coast, I popped the hood and I very comfortably held my hand on the coolant tank with an OAT of 60 degrees, the tank was just warm to the touch.................

That probably explains why we never see any fantastic photos of a Slingshot in a rain vista...

Next time I break out the pressure washer I’ll take a picture.

Getting the coolant tank warrantied as the dealer found the leak at the mid-seam. Still waiting to see if it is a new design or not- the story continues...
Well, this is what the new one looks like. Kind a looks like the old one however the dealer assured me that it was a new and improved model.
Hope this one lasts with no other issues however I will be the first one on bended knee with a SilverPlatter for DDM works to say “ I told you so” if this one turns out to be a bust as well.
A big shout out to Polaris for a quick turnaround with no hassles or issues.
After stupidly breaking off the engine-side coolant tank mounting tab, I ordered the DDMWorks metal tank, but still haven't gotten around to installing it. I guess I should since I now have almost 10000 miles on the plastic tank with only one mounting tab. It's all on me if I get stranded, so I guess I better get off my a.., I'm just not looking forward to doing the swap.
so - does anyone here have experience with the Voodoo Fab tank that Slingmods sells? it looks very similar to the DDM but it has a nice coolant level sight glass tube that looks easier to check the coolant level - - price is the same
Oh boy, getting my flame suit on.........................
I am getting ready to install the DDM coolant tank in our Slingshot, yep, somebody was offering their brand new , never installed, coolant tank at a significantly reduced cost so I decided to jump on it.
As I was saying, as I am getting ready to do the install I took my very first good look at the coolant hose routing and I am puzzled, why did Polaris run the "overflow" hose forward to dumping right behind the cooling fan?

Because Polaris...? I stoopidly wondered why Polaris chose to use a 30 Amp breaker to protect a 20 Amp relay with their original headlight design which was already pushing the maximum current reasonable for a 20 Amp circuit. No wonder they ended up having a recall.
Here is a link to what I did with that over flow hose from my DDM tank install.

I reused the original hose. I took it to the passenger side, zipped tied it to the rear passenger hood latch (hose on bottom side, just held up with zip tie) and down towards the ground in the inner fenderwell. It worked fine for me, zero issues and about 14k miles since the changeover.

You can go direct to "FUPower" and get that tank direct for even less -

LOL, read the description
I plan on leaving the hose where it is at, I just found the routing a curiosity. If I understand the system correctly, the only time that hose would come into play would be during an overheating event, at which time on that rare occasion there would be more pressing concerns other than antifreeze being blown all over by the fan..........................?
Come to think about it, maybe THAT was the original reason so to bring one's attention quicker to the overheating issue?
WOW, I am way overthinking this!

Tank is installed, an hour and a half or so of just podunkin at it so pretty straight forward. Just a few tidbits where 6o seconds with a dremel curtailed some cussing and swearing and kept me from getting the big hammer out. Also, I went contrary to the instructions and started the bottom hose during the installation and by the time I got the other hoses installed and the bolts tightened down it had pretty much worked itself into place.
It does look good!
