I tend to go 9mph(my cop friends say 10mph over is their trigger) over the speed limit, or more. When somebody tailgates me and I really can't move out of their way, I slow down to 10-15mph under the speed limit. Giving them a reason to tailgate me. If they don't back off(they usually do), I slow down some more. I will however "broom stick" them if they have pissed me off. Forcing them back behind me by closing gaps in adjacent lanes they thought they could get around me in. I only do that to reinforce the lesson I'm trying to teach. I usually can return to normal travel with them behind me maintaining a reasonable gap. I will move out of their way after that, if I can do so without hampering my preferred pace.
