...Has anyone any info on this like sound and or performance...
Ok so i see Slingmods has posted a new exhaust...........

That is pretty sharp looking but I am not a fan of anything below the frame. Not much clearance to start with. But it is a nice clean look.
-
.....im not looking for anything below the 5" clearance also but after reading the specs and me being in the market for a aftermarket exhaust, its got me curious but sound is important to me
-
.....This is what im actually looking at https://www.welterperformance.com/product/stealth/ , installed a dual set of W.P on a friends sling and love the sound and ease of installation....

You can not go wrong with anything built by Welter
They are the best at what they do!

I have to say that I really like the looks of that and I also like that they say it "tucks in the trans tunnel so that you don't lose ground clearance" and the ceramic coating with its insulation properties
personally I am not in the market for an exhaust and if I were I would want to wait on this one until there is an established history to judge it by - - I remember with the 2 brothers system came out. first users seemed to have nothing but trouble and then it was dropped from the sites.
At this time the Welter systems have already established the best reputation out there so it you dont want to wait until this new system has had a chance to prove itself go with the Welter

You do lose some ground clearance....at what I consider one of the most crucial places....
Green being the frame...blue the exhaust tips...
Black could be a curb, speed bump or railroad tracks or just a hump.
It might clear the tranny tunnel but not the exhaust tips...especially being closer to the swing arm if it would bounce up right before you reach the high point of the hump...
Which would cause the tips to get closer to the ground...
To me it doesn’t matter if it goes in the tunnel or under it.....you’ve lost ground clearance...
Now the heat reduction quality sounds interesting...

You really do not want anything hanging below the frame, I believe just about every driveway curb and the speed bump around here would drag. I was one of the very first one's to have the Welter Duals 1 1/2 inch installed at Maggie the first year. I would really like to have the 2 inch but hey I am NA, but still every little bit of flow helps. Love the sound and there have been a few problems but with around 75,000 mile what can you expect and Jeff has taken care of all of them except the rear bracket welding and he would have taken care of that if I had been closer to him.

Agreed, on some of the roads we take the Grasshopper this exhaust would not last a season. We are still waiting for something that fits the original position but is whisper quiet..............fantasizing, I know!

Nice looking system!
But, if you haven't banged the tub, you haven't driven the Slingshot.
The exhaust outlets are closer to the rear wheel, still below frame.
Jack points still seem to be accessible unless you are using a Quick Jack lift type system.

...this is why posting on this forum is important to get all the pros & cons........im also curious as to why I dont see W.P. exhaust systems on slingmods any more.....not that it matters because im leaning their way anyway
-
That’s not good...
Just took it from their site by using an internet search and link....could not find it on slingmods site directly....it’s been wiped.
So did something happen we didn’t hear about?
I hope I never need to replace any parts....
-
I just found out my SS dealer now handles the welter exhaust stuff....it’s on the welter site....
Oh and slingmods is not listed as a dealer....just saying....

Scott Macindoe, who owns Slingshot Only and has interests in other Slingshot related ventures, might of had something to do with that!

Nice looking exhaust!... but my Air Ride system will CRUSH this and level 2 would snatch it off from the bottom on the first ride....Dhuooooooooooooooooooo that will leave a mark!

I have heard some rumors here and there but does anyone know the actual reason why slingmods is no longer a welter dealer.
