SLINGSHOTS IN THE SMOKIES 2019

  • You sitting on the front porch?

We just got in and spotted eight Slingshots driving into town.

Gonna wash some of the road dust/mud off our bods and ride out the Blue Ridge Parkway for a bit this evening.:P

Yep sitting on the porch looking at the view having a glass of wine. So fun that you caught up to us and you knew who I was. My rear facing camera broke on the Parkway so that’s gone. Still have the forward facing one. That Parkway was pretty fun But I caught myself hugging the center line a couple of times. That’s a no no. Have fun tonight... ;)

Sorry about the camera, but those things happen. If you have found yourself hugging the center line on the parkway, be really careful if you hit the Tail of the Dragon or Moonshine 28 (US 129 and US 28). Those are VERY hard to stay in your own lane and pushing it, parkway is child's play compared to those. I've been riding those roads for nearly 35 years, they are challenging but also the most fun! Have fun, stay safe, and live to tell the tale for many years! Enjoy!

  • Loaded and ready to go. Just have to put the cover on and hook up the truck. Next stop, Maggie Valley! Should be there by 12pm-1pm Tuesday. And yes, that is a 55gal drum of ZZP Z98 blended fuel on the front.

Guessing that that machine of yours has more time in the garage, mod bug fever, than on the road....

But that is about to change...;)

    Welcome to Maggie Valley! 8|

It's road time and time to learn what that machine was made to do!

Slingshot Flyer! Well, of course it's red... :REDSS:

  • I had Joker lights installed yesterday here at Maggie Valley and it’s a class job. They look great and the turn signal integration is pretty sweet. He will be installing all week but not on the fairgrounds. The app is amazing. I’ll try to make a video of them tonight.

On top of that the guy saw that my rear light ring was rubbing against the wheel. I literally had that adjusted by my dealer two days before leaving for this trip (I didn’t have the proper tools) and all I did was ride up and down the strip a few times and it was worse than ever. Nice job by my dealership....

So I’ve added checking all my wheel light rings to my TCLOCS list.

  • Found one!

    Wanted to help so bad....

    Escorted it off the road...

Tried talking to determine the situation, but it refused to talk.

So, left a can of beans, a bottle of wine, a hydrocodone, and a t-shirt...

  • You can only do so much, then you just have to let them go...

  • I am ready to roll. I just loaded my last tub of shirts into the trailer. I am super tired and honestly I don't see a reason for me to leave right now. I talked to Allison and we both actually agreed that I should get some sleep and then get up at midnight and head that way around 1am. So I should be there in the morning.

Looking forward to seeing that display in person.

  • Everyone, this is my first time here. It is so unbelievably beautiful. People here are so polite which is a far cry from Boston. People see your Slingshot and drive over,

politely asking questions. Men tip their hats to you. People say please and thank you. And the views! It’s like being in another world. So many slings here already. This is going to be a fantastic week.

    Welcome to the South! 8)

Welcome to the South! I like big cities, visiting concrete jungles - as I try to safely pass on thru. Maybe your retirement plans should involve moving below the Mason-Dixon lines. 😉
