Here is another ride you don't want to miss http://www.cherohala.org/
I have 8 days down there, should be enough time to do it all if it doesn't pour!

I was just on Google maps searching the Maggie Valley area. Doh! The Tail of the Dragon is not far, had no idea. Gotta ride that for sure! This is going to be one great vacation!
Get use to some of the tamer roads in the Smokies before taking on the Dragon. Then go early in the day and during the week... Lot of roads that a just as fun and not nearly as much traffic (crazy traffic).

You will be in the mountains in spring time - afternoon rain is a regular thing - keep a towel under the seat and think of it as a FREE car wash.

If you would go to WildMountainRides.com they will send you a map or more than one of the area free. It is the best map out there of the area. Large enough for us old people to read. If you were to send me your address I will mail you a copy I just happen to have a few that I carry with me to Maggie Valley every year to pass out. Everywhere I go that has them I pick up a few to pass out. It is called Motorcycle Touring Map, Wile Rides of Tennessee and North Carolina.

Thanks.... looks like that website is gone
Just went up to the shop. After two months they finally found the leak in my air ride. It was the check valve.
I have to call Mitch at Rev Dynamics to see if this is covered under the warranty. The labor is going to be atrocious for such a tiny part.
Try this site http://www.motorcycleroads.com…y=2&amenities=2&quality=2

Now that's TWISTED!!
Starting to think about what we need to carry with us to Maggie.
For you that have been there before is the temp ok most of the time for shorts, or long paints.
We all know the limits on storage in the Slingshot.

Most of the time you will want the long pants and maybe some "long johns" . Cool mornings and evenings...
I just realized the Carowinds is in Charlotte. I am a roller coaster fanatic and travel to ride the highest and fastest. Love the adrenaline rush. Carowinds has the tallest and fastest gigacoaster at 325 feet and 95 m.p.h. and it's been on my list for years. Top Thrill Dragster in Ohio is faster at 125 m.p.h. but very short.
Now I have to put one day aside to go Charlotte!
The ride schedule was just posted. Time to pick!

LOL, I live 10 mins from Carowinds... good times for sure!
*IMHO: Stay in Maggie! The Fury falls way short to the thrill of riding the mountain roads...

Just keep checking the Weather app for weekly/monthly weather forecasts.
studiopeg Heck... if you really want a thrill ~> I'll take you on a run with me down route 276 (PROMISE we will beat out the top speed of that coaster in Ohio)!
Ahhh but do you provide a lap bar and a barf bag??
