Mmmm..... Baaaaaacoonnnnnnnn!
Fixed myself some thick sliced Applewood Wood smoked bacon this morning! Expensive and worth every penny.
BTW, I bake my bacon - 25 mins at 400 degrees for the thick stuff. Delicious. Try it.
-
I hang my bacon, Hormel Black Label thick cut, on a micro wave rack and zap it for 6 minutes. Great crisp bacon.

I's sorry, I firmly believe if you want the best tasting bacon nothing beats frying it up in a good old cast iron skillet and when that's done then fry up some potatoes, onions and peppers in the leftover bacon grease
other methods "might" make it healthier, but I just don't see the point in trying to make bacon healthy - if you want healthy eat a bran muffin or something else - - not bacon
-
Yes that is a good way and bacon grease is great for frying a lot of stuff.

Don't really care of the health aspect of bacon. But it is called BAAK-UN, not FRY-UN or COOK-UN or SKILLET-UN or . . . . .
But I tried it once (baking) and now I just love it. I cook up 1-1/2 to 2 lbs every time and then keep it around to use all week..
I will be doing the cast iron skillet method in a week - goin' camping with brand new CI skillets and dutch oven.

my wife loves the cast iron - - we have a very expensive set of Allclad stainless steel that almost never gets used instead its always the CI - we have three different sized frypans and a big dutch oven - - - the largest of the cast iron pans was actually my big camping pan from before we were married, dang thing is huge and you can cook an entire meal in it - - - once its seasoned and aged its as non stick as you could ever want.

Hard to believe that's where bacon comes from
