Display Morewhen you say "dangly down thing" are you talking about this stupid reflector thing that polaris stuck on the stock license plate mount?
Edit
if this is your problem just remove the whole thing and throw it away. It has to be one of the dumbest things they put on the stock slingshot - -
looks like something they took off a kids bicycle and it looks cheep
I removed that thing the day I brought my slingshot home - - and I cant believe that you made a nice new mount and then put this thing on it
Yes and no......I might cut off the very bottom part...I like the reflector idea...but someone makes red lights to replace the reflectors. Was considering adding them.
About the “L” shaped reflectors ....I was in the show room looking around and one was laying on the floor under a new SS.... they couldn’t even get them to stick long enough to make it out the door.... one is still stuck on mine and the other one I found in my driveway...
They need to use 3M tape...
Many states require them to be there....

"what reflectors officer? I bought it brand new and they weren't there when I drove it home????"

I’m probably going to remove this dangly down thing.
DON'T DO IT or they'll be callin' you BigBitch!

I like that, very witty @SlingLow.
Look at the new rear fender....it has a grove to keep the license plate holder from hitting it...

I guess they have to considering they insist on having that hideous extended plate holder.
We dont need no stinking light weight rear fenders.
Just in beta testing now to identify any weak areas.
After it is tested I'll clean up the welds and either paint pearl black or have it powder coated.

I just took a heat gun and warmed up the plastic license plate holder and gave it a 45 degree bend up. Still very visible but zero chance of contact with my fender.
I like the heavy duty brackets...mine snapped off under 1000 miles..
Does it connect to the front of the swing arm?
Someone posted a video on YouTube of his rear wheel during a normal ride...that thing bounces you and down a lot....so if you have any hard bumps I can see why my license plate bracket is hitting the fender.
I tried to tell you this almost a month ago. (post 30)
That brings up another question...does the rear swing arm have built in stops...like motorcycle handlebars?

Uh...The coilovers?
To me how how much weight you carrying and how big was the pothole or gully did you drive through to get fender that high to hit light.
But the real problem is you should throw that piece of shit plastic light off and install more quality light on SS .
Just me 170. Shitty road conditions mostly potholes, rough spots and water/gas line construction holes on the right edge of the road.
I added a couple clicks on the rear shock to stiffen it a little more.
Just noticed that every model of Metricks fender offered for sale on Slingmods says under options that a license plate relocator is required
which fender do you have Bigdog?
My hours of paint work is ruined.

yep - looks like the Metricks Hugger - - - look at slingmods under options they very clearly say a license plate re-locator is required and have a drop down box to select one if you do not already have one - - - Apparently they are aware that the stock plate setup will hit the fender - here is a screen shot
Sure after I sacrificed my fender during the license plate bracket fender destruction research project.

its not something new - metricks on their own site even sells the relocator - guess you just missed it - - - - - - oh well, you know now
