For those that have taken the Slingshot apart...where exactly does the gas tank sit? I'm trying to make sure I don't put a screw through it when I install my amp. Thanks!
Gas tank location?

Right back where the tag is. Behind the panel closest to the rear tire.
-
dead center
-
ok so based off the pictures, it looks like there is a little space between the gas tank and the cubby side walls?
-
I just pulled those photos from the internet @Turbosling or @rabtech could probably answer definitively.

Hope these help

This helped immensely. Thanks! Looks like I shouldn't have any issues mounting the amps where I want to.
-
great! let me know if you need a pic from a specific spot
-
Where you sticking the amps? Under each seat is a great place to put them.

I'm actually putting them inside the driver side cubby. 2 reasons for this...first, the sub only requires about .8 cubic ft of space so putting it in there eats up some of the air space there, 2nd...even though I have marine grade amps...I am paranoid. Want to keep it out of rain and all that.
-
I would be worried that with no air flow in the storage compartments the amps would overheat and go into protection mode. With them mounted under the seats they have air flowing around them.
I have my 2 "non marine grade" ALPINE amps mounted under the seats for about 6 or 7 months now and haven't had any problems. I do wash the SS regularly and hose out the interior. Just don't spray a jet of water directly on the amps.

My thoughts are exactly like Kenny has mentioned. They will get hot and I bet they will click off and go into a safety mode.
-
Just raise them off the floor. They will stay dry
-
Kenny put my Alpine under the seat too, no issues.

I figured the amp would eat up some of the air space...but obviously it didn't take up that much. But all in all I am happy that they are inside and takes away my paranoia.
