Has anyone had any issues with their @Dave@DDMWorks coolant tank leaking from the plug that would be used for the coolant reroute? I noticed today that I had a little puddle below the tank and found signs it was running down the side from the plug. I torqued it down more and it didn't appear to show any further signs of leaking after a couple hour ride tonight. Just curious if anyone had this and what they did to resolve it.

Teflon tape or plumbers putty. Apply to threads only.

That is what I was thinking if it seems to start leaking again. I called DDMWorks when I installed it and they said they haven't heard of any issues with anything leaking and no tape was needed, but I just installed this in January and it already started leaking. We will see if I need to do it.

Had the same issue. I think I had to much Teflon tape on it. Leak went away after I messed with it a couple of times.

We ran into a couple up here at Maggie Valley that we’re leaking from the fitting for the coolant re-route. Both times the fitting was just a little loose, a couple of turns with a 3/16” Allen key and all was good. Hope that helps.

It fixed my problem! Thanks again to @Dave@DDMWorks for looking at it. Great customer service after the sale!

Dave@DDMWorks are you offering two different surge tanks?
A big one and a smaller one?
I’ve seen pictures with a sight glass on the side and one with it on the front...

Minor dribble, a wee bit of added oomph in the twist of the wrist and magic, dribble gone!
Yawn and sigh.........

We have one size tank, the earlier versions had the site glass on the front the current version has the site glass on the side to make it easier to see at a quick glance there is fluid.
Hope that helps,
Dave

Hi Dave, all of the unpainted tanks I’ve seen are “scuffed up” for powder coating.....is there any chance of getting one that is shiny aluminum? Everything under my hood is shiny stainless or aluminum...

We can send one to you in the raw aluminum, but they all get manufactured for us ready for powdercoat. We have had a couple customers polish the tanks up over the years though and they do look great. Since the surfaces are pretty flat it is relatively easy to polish, but we do not offer the polish service on the tanks ourselves.
Hope that helps,
Dave

Mine is also leaking a tiny bit. I will take a closer look tomorrow and see if needs tightening before we go to Maggie Valley

Thanks, Dave.
I was able to turn it tighter (about 2 turns) with an allen wrench.
I hope this will take care of the problem. I will stop by and see if I can spend a few $$$ in your tent/store tomorrow.
