The Sony came with an extension cable for the USB port which you could run to the glove box, just secure it to each other with some electrical tape.

Yes I have the USB in the glove box and I have 2 USB above the radio due to the guy who installed my LED's put a battery guage on the dash if you look at my picture. I was attempting to run the USB from the back of the radio to the front where all of the empty slots under the radio are. The phone is sitting in a mount on the dash and if I wanted to use the USB for it for any reason, I wanted to be able to hook it up there and not have to have something running from the glove box.

I use mine just to play music. It store a easely 500 or more songs depending on your flash drive size.

I USUALLY use the Bluetooth and use my Spotify app for music. but now that I actually have a radio that will pull in signal I will be listening to the radio also lol. but Spotify is the go to. but sony stated that any updates to firmware and any other fixes had to be done through the USB so I wanted to make it accessible.

not while I am driving it isn't. I have to pull over or have a passenger which is usually one of my kids. so in short nope the glove box is not consider accessible.
