Welter should be proud!

  • Welter does have a nice set of exhaust. I believe he received his official transmission mount patent papers the other day.

Someone mentioned they had read somewhere he had some issues with his slingshot getting stolen out in Vegas. They said they found it with the radio and some other stuff missing.

Not sure about the details. Maybe someone will chime in that was or is out there in Vegas.

  • That’s correct. Jeffs slingshot was stolen, but it was recovered. They took his Sling Tunes system and messed a few other things up and also stole his exhaust tip. I suppose it was a local thug that heard him bumping and thought they needed that system.

  • Glad he got it back. Transmission mount is a work of art in itself. I can’t speak to the install as @Slingrazor and @Painter did most of the work.

@Jeff Welter and @angie@WP thanks for a great product.

2018 SLR LE with DDM SuperCharger!!! I guess the gray ones are faster...

  • Wow! That is insane.

I am glad Jeff got his SS back. My question is this....

For all of the money that is spent on these events to ride on free public roads, shouldn't there be some kind of security for that price? With an expected 500 Slingshots in Maggie this year, that's around $38,000 just for entry fees. Really don't see those t-shirts costing that much. ?(

  • There was security. It was in a casino parking lot. Tons of security. Didn’t stop the bad guys though. Just an unfortunate incident. The security cameras did let the cops know who did it though. That have had run ins with them in the past. They were professional thief’s I suppose. All is well that ends well. We won’t let this one thug slow our roll. We’re heading to Texas for the event there. We love the events and feel safe at all of them.

  • It was recovered within a few hours.Jeff announced on the microphone to all there it was his fault as he left the keys in the ignition which is an open invitation. There were many other Slingshots parked there. The event was great.Security guys running around. The cameras picked up the culprit, and the cops got it back very quickly some items missing.

  • You know.... while your comment makes some sense, understand at its peak, Vegas had maybe 70 Slingshots.

And, while we had security present at the event (Hotel Security monotoring the parking lot every 15 minutes or so) it is completely unfair to think that full event security for all rallys should come out of the funds raised from that 1 event.

So much time and effort going into the planning and networking to provide us the opportunities to attend a group event.

Want to see more at the event? Come to them, register for the event, don't walk in and expect something for nothing. Support @ivor for the work he and his helpers do.

  • I have been to every past SSITS and not once have I ever just walked in and expected something for nothing.

What I would expect is for almost $75 maybe some security to go along with my t shirt. As the events become larger, and more slings attend there is a greater chance for crooks to find easy targets.

that sucks but very glad it was recovered and not wrecked - can I ask how they got it
