Not sure a cordless impact would fit in that area. If so, think about trying that.
If not, find a cheater bar to help you and then hammer on it with a hammer. You can use sockets, pipe, jack lift bar, etc. to accomplish the same thing.
It probably also wouldn't hurt to spray some penetrating oil on it and let is soak.
Watched some youtube videos. Looks like the only thing left to try is a heat gun. Going to have to be really careful.
If the soldering iron did not work, the heat gun will not at all.

That is correct, with the soldering iron you will have to heat for a while to get the locktite to soften.

Got the shift set screw off this morning. It was a combination of a couple of things, including some later suggestions here.
1. Got a new longer mm hex set - the ones I had were short
2. Bought a longer pipe from the plumbing aisle at Home Depot
3. Slap me silly. I forgot that the default temperature on my soldering iron was 775. I cranked it up to the max of 899.
Held the soldering iron on the screw for a good 4 minutes. Put the hex wrench and pipe on, and walah!!

Well now, that's just not appropriate! Or necessary. Nice work, now it's time to cut some holes in that Sling thing!
Shift and e-brake done (the e-brake was hard, had to scrape off the residual rubber before the new cover would fit). I almost had a disaster... when going to put the new shift on tonight, of course the set screw fell. I searched everywhere under the SS, couldn't find it. Finally saw it sitting on a shelf under the shift toward the back. Couldn't reach it. Had to rig up a magnet on a string to capture it.)
Next, the most important mod right now: finding the battery and hooking up my heated gear. I have to bring the SS to the dealer on Saturday in 30 degree weather for inspection. I don't have a choice. I'm gonna freeze my *&#!) off without that heated gear hooked up. So glad I didn't sell my gear after I sold the motorcycle!
I think the battery is in the rear. Going to research threads now to find it.

@studiopeglooking at your new shifter boot, it looks like you need to pull it up into the console housing so that it fits into the hex shape opening. Also you need to remove that ugly decal.

Do you guys think I should put a dab of blue loctite on the shift set screw?
I would recommend it also make sure you torque to the proper Foot Pounds.
