looked around online for some pics of peoples ss on a lift to see how it looked but couldnt find many. did my 500 mile oil change today so thought I would share a few to maybe help a little. I used the main chassis tube that runs front to back and I am using the quick jack brand.

If you want to be able to move your Quick Jack further to outboard sides of your sling - replace the Rubber Blocks with some Plywood pads
It will give you more surface area and stability. I have pictures of them somewhere and I will dig them up and post them but here is a picture of it in the air -
Here is a link with more pictures
What was today's Sling project-Mods , goodies.....? -
I am sitting in the shop now doing an oil change. Sling is on the lift to drain the oil and to give the underside a wipe down

Someday, I will have a full sized garage (although maybe not ad big as @MACAWS) and a full lift like you have there. Very jealous. Nice setup.

My shop is 60x75 with 14ft eaves and still not big enough somedays

Now that is what I call a sensible size shop.
I struggle with a30 x 50 but if you need to make more room I can help you relocate that lift -
Check on graigs list. If you look around you can find them. I found mine from a local ford dealer, 10,000 lb was hardly used as it was back in the corner of servive shop and hardest to get to so they wanted it gone for the room. I paid $1000 canadian which is like $100 US

Sadly... a full lift is not on the menu until we get our bigger place.
Looking at land in SC to put something like this: 60x60 Metal Building Package: Quick Prices | General Steel
THEN, say goodbye to my retirement fund!

Just FYI - there are a bunch of things needed that they do not include make sure you ask about
1- Insulation
2- Doors
3- Footings and Floor 4000 sq ft of concrete can add up quick
4- Gutters and drains
5- Then of course yo have to finish it out.I only know this because I am looking at a bigger building - I am too cramped in mine
-
Yeah, I know, I'm easily looking at 150-200K (after) the initial building costs.

Na you can do that size building for under 100K - roughly double the cost of steel to finish a standing building

LOL ~> It's the 5-Axis HAAS CNC machine that'll be sitting in there, which will cost a little over 100K (and that's for an el-cheapo one)!

Hell, may as well go for the 60x80 building than.

OMG! I did not know you guys had full size shops with lifts and all the tools known to mankind. I am impressed. Thanks for sharing the shop views.

Not everybody has BIG shops but like other things we sure have a lot of fun with our little one's!

Think about if you want to heat all or part of it when you do the planning. Mine is only 26' x 36' and I use it just about every day, heat and air and the surround sound is better than the one in the house. All of the tools, but need a lift. Jack stands for me but when I get under whatever I am working on I cannot see and when I crawl out I can't get up.

It’s going to be a while before all this happens... but the plan is to have some separation walls for heat/AC zones. Truth, this is Stacy’s department (she works for an HVAC company, and when it comes to heating and air, I always let her take the wheel).
