My face when I learned that the Las Vegas shooter had antifa materials in his room and was probably a hardcore leftist:

Rick, was that verified? I don’t believe the FBI ever verified that to be true as of 0600 this morning.. Lots of misinformation has been trolling through the .net.
-
I read it in a couple of different places, but I suppose it could be misinformation. I've read differing accounts on several points of interest in this case. But it would make sense. It's reasonable to conclude that this event would be attended by a lot of right-wing and Trump supporting people. I'd be surprised to find that a right-wing Trump supporter shot up a concert full of right-wing Trump supporters. Then again, there's no accounting for crazy. I'm following with interest.

Guess it could still go any way at this point - I’m still stuck on bat shit crazy

"I read it on the internet so it must be true."

I am there with those that say this waste of human flesh did this out of a elf-serving twisted state of mind.
There will always be those same opportunistic groups that leverage events like these to further their own self-serving agenda's by applying labels and completely unfounded motivational drivers.

"I read it on the internet so it must be true."
You put that in quotations marks. I looked through the tread but couldn't find who said it. Was it from a reply that got deleted maybe?
-
actually, it's been put out that there was a lot of misinformation at the beginning, and unfortunately some of it was picked up by Google and some mainstream news. There is actually no indication right now that he was a leftist or anything like that. Part of the issue is that a group of alt right folks misidentified the perpetrator from the beginning. God damn internet sleuths going off half-cocked.

I've heard it so many times. We blame major media outlets for what they report while the sources of "fake news" are ones we can't remember where it came from or "I read on the internet". Our society blames who they want to even before any facts are available.

Write it on Facebook, Google will find it! BTW, I still miss Walter Cronkite!

Ok, I understand. We'll see eventually what was what, I suppose. Here's one source of the claim.
It says that the claim came from an "FBI source". I'm skeptical of this article now, because it also says that the gunman was taken out by police. However, I have seen the photo of the gunman's dead body and it clearly looks like he died from a gunshot wound inside his mouth and up through his head which would back up the original report that he committed suicide. I doubt the police would have shot him through the mouth.
Also there are photos of the weapons used and they show that at least one weapon was equipped with a legal bump-fire device - it was not a fully automatic weapon as first reported.
Will continue to follow with interest.

I understand everyone is looking to understand his "reason", the "why" did he do it, and "what" motivated him and some are wanting to politicize.
I have also read "theories" he couldn't have acted alone (the logic of which wasn't that sound to me) as people try to grasp and understand.
I think @Bill Martin may have it right - just bat shit crazy.

You will never find out the truth. Everyone will speculate but the only one that knows what happened and why is dead everything else is he said she said.RNJ12

as entertaining as Alex Jones can be, I find that most of his stuff is only partial truth, and sensationalized to appeal to the alright and those type of folks. For a fact, the shooter did kill himself after he shot through the door at the SWAT team. He was dead when they finally enter the room.

And Alex continues to fan the fire because that's what he does.

The evidence I've seen seems to very clearly back this up.

Can you just imagine what guys like Cronkite, Huntley/ Brinkley would have to say about today’s media ??? Don’t think they ever could have imagined how much their profession would have devolved over the years. Very few report news strictly based on fact without bias - not sure the 24 hour news cycle is turning out to be a good thing

Nor is the internet! I long for simpler times. Today we have access to too much and understand so little but believe all that we read or hear.

That's what they all do unless it's against them. Then they want it hush hush and sweep it under the carpet.RNJ12
