  • I hate to do this, but I would like to inform everyone on our great Forum, but I want to make everyone is aware what that means,
    Here Is a copy of the E-Mail I got about my complaint regarding the Wing I've purchased. Please see the attached pictures also.

We offered to refund you $200 which is what we charged you for the paint, as well as option to send it back to get a completely new one.. Even though you bought if from us it still comes and deal with the manufacture as these are custom made.. Both us and the manufacture offered solutions to fix this as this was the first issue we have ever had with paint so of course want to take care of you and are trying to. We will go ahead and issue the $200 refund back to your card. Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    After I receive this E-Mail. I called and like you can see above there is a 100 % guaranty and replace it with a completely NEW ONE . I was told that this means I have to send the wing and they will fix it. Maybe I'm stupid or a dummy but that's not a new one.

  • @mytoy, I might be reading this wrong, but does that email say that you still have the option to send it back and get a new one? If you do that, and they refunded you the price of the paint, then you could get a new one and get it painted, and not have anything extra come out of pocket. Perhaps I am misunderstanding, though.

  • Call and ask for Chris it may end with the same results but he made things right with me. He is what makes slingmods.com (my opinion) I doubt I go through them again but if I do he will be my go to guy there.

    You did read it the same way like I did, but all I could get is the one I have "repaired" I can also copy e-mail where I did ask for UPS (prepaid) so it could eventually be shipped back but never got the info. :(:(

  • Ask painter if the waves can be sanded down and re cleared....I painted my fender 3 times before I got it right....I know you paid big bucks for this and you expected it to be right...


    The nicks are probably from the shipping company...they care nothing about fragile or other such words...my point is even if they sent you another one...it could get here in worse shape...been there and done that...


    Orange peel can be removed by wet sanding....

    @mytoy , you know you are one of my favorites here! Those "waves" cannot be just resanded and cleared. Is that hollow or solid! If hollow, the filler has bunched up inside the wing. If solid, it could be roughed, filled, block sanded and repainted...... not something that should be required with a new part!

  • I did not buy mine from Slingmods, though mine arrived damaged as well! Bought mine direct from Jack at Underground. Sling was out of town for a bit so it took me a while to open it and notice the damage. When I contacted them they did offer to repair if I'd return it, which did happen.

    We first received word about this issue on Tuesday afternoon, and replied letting you know that we would get in touch with the manufacturer, as these are indeed custom made to order.  Unfortunately with Underground Auto being in Florida, they had to prep for Hurricane Irma, and they weren’t able to get back to us right away.  We did reassure you on Thursday (and prior) that we would take care of this situation for you no matter what.


    On Thursday, we received your email with you stating that you were one, going to dispute the charge through PayPal, or two, you wanted us to refund the full purchase cost less $150.  This also included a note stating: “Please respond ASAP so I don’t have to post anywhere.”
    Within the hour of your email, we informed you we had yet to hear back as we imagined they were still dealing with the Hurricane, with us stating “We will take care of you no matter what, please bare with us as we wait to hear back from underground. Underground auto always takes very good care of their customers, just right now they were affected by the hurricane so communicates are limited..”
    I do understand this was shipped and delivered before the events of the hurricane, however, we made our best efforts to reach out to get this resolved with them ASAP while they were dealing with this horrific disaster.


    After hearing that Underground was OK on Friday and that they were starting to get back on their feet, they informed us they could do a few things. Issue a refund of $200 for the upcharge of the paint, or take it back and have it repainted for you.
    We understand that you’re inconvenienced and that you’re unhappy with the final product result... and still stand by our guarantee by agreeing to pay for return shipping and have that product repainted for you or to give you a 100% refund of that product. We SlingMods and UnderGround Auto have offered you several amicable solutions to resolve this issue, none to your satisfaction.

    They can get a repair going for your wing that is not an issue, they just wouldn't have a box to provide to send to you to get it to them.. Do you have a box or able to get a box that the wing will fit in so we can get it going back to underground to get it fixed for you? We are trying to do the best and fast thing for you!

    Going back and forth with underground it might be easier and faster to refund you the $200 for the upcharge on paint and you could have it repainted locally? They would be about 2 weeks out plush shipping time. Would you want to go that route?

  • strange , mr my toy drill holes in the item that he was not happy with ,and now he wants a new panel. Sorry not , his issue for drilling the holes in the first
    place. his attitude pisses me off. Slingmods has always been there for us. Mr mytoy needs to go to the other side with this type of attitude .
