Post-Irma reporting

We are feeling the northeast side of the storm now. The eye is about an hour drive southwest of us. High winds and lots of rain. Several tornados reported in the area. But, we are ok so far.
Can't imagine what you guys south of us went through.

Alive here in Lakeland, and Slingshot safe in the garage. It was brutal between midnight and 4am. I kept waiting for it to calm temporarily with the eye passing over, but instead, we got the eye wall or the teeth here. Various moderate damage to the plane, dock, boathouse, fences, etc. Always could have been worse, but I'd say damage estimates are conveniently about a dollar less than my insurance deductible would be.

Well, the worst is over here. Only light rain left.
Lots of flooding.
The back yard is flooded as well as the shed.
But safe.

Ventured out to survey the local damage. Lots of flooding and no power, but we faired much better than a lot of areas.

We expected the flooding and moved all of the valuable thinks out earlier in the week.

I'm alive. It was a sleepless night. Power was out for about 21 hours...sure beats the 24 days from hurricane Charley and 18 days from hurricane Francis. At least I have a generator now. 7 shingle tabs blew off but I found them and glued them back on with Sika-Flex. Still no cable or internet and cell service is spotty at times. No damage to the house other than the shingles. No trees down on my property either. I made out better than my neighbor.

Calm after the storm.....
