What products are working for bonding the plastic back together? I need to reattach a plastic mounting bracket on the front wing.
How do you repair the plastic

@Bugeater homedepot sells an abs adhesive that I have used to build panels. Its nothing but abs in compatible solvent and when dried becomes one piece. I've glued abs stock together with it but have never tested tear strength. Once dried, you might try adding extra adhesive to both side of the joint for extra strength.

One of the complaints about Polaris' use of plastics is that Polaris doesn't always identify the type pf plastic used in a panel, so always try to test and the solvent glue you're thinking about using in an inconspicuous spot, whenever possible.
Some plastic welding/repair kits include a stapler that allows you to embed a staple to help hold adjacent pieces of plastic together during the bonding process. This probably not as important for trying to reattach mounting tabs, but I'd look for some compatible plastic that comes in an appropriate shape to use a a reinforcement to strengthen the bonds.

@Painter may have some good input here? I might be looking for some of the same type repairs since I have some panels with only broken tabs. Thanks in advance!

ABS plastic is commonly used on motorcycles, but when dealing with Polaris, who knows?
Hopefully, someone can give an idea of the type(s) of plastic used by Polaris. -
100% natural, all organic plastic...

There are three types of plastic on the Sling. Each type uses a different product to adhere. Tabs? .. Mounting Bracket? ....Need specific information, pictures or both!
Actually, I have yet to find a piece of ABS yet on the Sling. -

If any ABS is used it would be "High Impact ABS" as most ABS is too brittle in cold and loses it's strength over time and degrades in UV light. -

As usual, @Painter is the go-to expert for Slingshot body panel questions. Now if Polaris would just make it easier to know which plastic they used where so we would know how to fix cracks, etc.?

Ok so if you're confused blame the master!

Injectable Polymers should bond well with an automotive grade epoxy. TPO (Painted panels, lowers, etc.) should only be bonded with TPO epoxy with filler and structural properties. Nylon ..... well.... pretty tough to bond well. Luckily. Not too many nylon pieces but the rear camera housing and the strip filler on the tail. May be more....
The most important thing to get a good bond is to clean, clean, clean the area; sand with some 80 grit dry and clean, clean, clean again. Bond, clamp or apply weight and let it set undisturbed for 12-24 hours! -
I go redneck and scuff the parts, clean with alcohol swabs, and then used a good super glue.
After it dries good, I take plastic epoxy/bonder and build it up around the edges to try to add strength.
Both products I use are made by Loctite.
Painter used some big words above, so I am not sure we are talking about doing the same thing.... ha

Thanks @Painter. The front wing that I am hoping to fix says TPO on it so now to find TPO epoxy. Hopefully they make it in a mixing syringe.
Yes they do!

Lazer Bond Reviews - Is it a Scam or Legit?
this stuff works pretty good You can put a small bevel on the pieces and fill in the crack like welding you can do it in layers
Also JB weld fixed my fender flares just like body putty. Drill 1/8" holes along the crack on both sides to let the weld have something to grab onto. Also drill a hole at the end of the crack to keep it from growing

Now @Painter, if only you did your own mods...
I don't know nothn' bout mods! I have to call on people who think they know how for help.
Just went and bought some "Crazy Glue" to glue back the broken frame, some "Quick Seal" to waterproof my seats, some "Dap Bath Silicone" to join my painted panels and some good old Duct Tape to waterproof my radio!
Thank God there are "Jack Offs" to direct me or I'd be lost!
