This could be one of those [how-to] post that can only go so far. After a certain point in the instructions it would be like a [how-to] steal my slingshot..
While I have them on all my bikes they are really not to prevent theft and I doubt any would slow down a professional. Even the tracking alarms are useless since signal blockers are readily available (causing the eminent death of Lojack) but more to keep otherwise honest people off (or out) of them. Many good people seem to loose their mind around shiny things and a long time ago I became tired of finding them taking pictures of their sticky fingered kids sitting on my bikes kicking the tank ...... I have absolutely no tolerance for disrespecting other peoples property so its as much to prevent me from being carted away to the pokey as it (the perimeter sensor) is a active deterrent. Look.....don't touch unless you ask first.....
I can tell you though, with its idiosyncrasies and sensitive systems I certainly would not let some teenage kid at a box store who may have never even seen a SLingshot before bug into any of my wiring ........
