Seeing that @sideslinger no longer allows me to use the Dremel for any SS crafts... (see the marred e-brake cover)
I'm looking to remove the "Polaris" name from the front of my sling...
Suggestions?? My goal is a clean/polished look...

This is a good question I want that gone on mine too. I think painter took off mims somehow
Anyone ever cut out that section and add a screen backer?
I think there are some aftermarket covers for sale on Slingmods that would simply cover the name.
I thought there was a carbon fiber version that covers that entire area. I may be very confused though....

You can black out the "O" and the "L" (whiten the rest and pretend you're french)
You can black out the P, L and I and people will think a couple of "oars" own the SS
Get rid of the I and the S and tell everyone it's a snowmobile
Seriously, given the flexibility of the plastic I don't think any type filler will work well...how about a thick sticker, decal or graphic, maybe a flag.
While I like the carbon fiber options out there, I think it would look out of place if that was the only carbon fiber addition to the SS. I for one am not willing to spend $1K on stick on carbon fiber pieces.
I have struggled with this same question for some time @ericastar76
I am willing to hear suggestions and follow this thread in an attempt to eradicate the last piece of advertisement left on my SS. The rest has been removed.
My vote as well - ten minute install
I added a piece to cover mine, it's like a little spoiler for the front!
it sits about an 1 1/2" in front of the lettering
Do you just want the word Polaris off of it or would a different word work? If you use a Dremel you will never get the word to disappear.
Best way to make it go is to drill a series of holes in each letter, fill with fiberglass filler, sand, use spot filler, re paint. The fiberglass filler is strong and will hold to the plastic because it is pressed through the holes.

I initially wanted it to be smooth with no lettering... but now, after seeing @Shatneymans plate, I'm kinda feeling "e-Star Racing" as a bolt on over the Polaris... But then, there's this:
Not sure how this was done... @MiM you have any insight?
Just like @Slingrazor said. To get that look you would have to smooth the plastic and use filler on the letters. I believe @Painter explained it on the old forum back in the day.

Really?!? I can get anything to disappear with a dreamer. If that don't work I have a bfh that will! Time is all it takes to make things disappear
1. Remove piece from Sling.
2. Clean with alcohol and let dry.
3. Scuff entire piece with a red or green scuff pad.
4. Drill a bunch of 1/8" holes in the lettering.
5. scuff lettering with 80 grit or courser dry
6. Clean with 91% Alcohol and let dry.
7. Fill lettering with "Fiberfill" pressing through holes. Turn over and gently smooth inside flatter.
8. When dry but not cured, coat with more "Fiberfill".
Let dry 12 hours, DA sand with 220 smooth and fill any pinholes with a catalyzed filler. Sand smooth and you are ready to epoxy prime/paint.
1. Have painter do all those things listed above when he paints @ericastar76 entire sling because she will invariably f-it up otherwise!

Not sure how this was done... @MiM the lettering is vinyl and I do believe the surface was smoothed out with fiberglass.

Or you can order 1 of these. Light up the night with your custom logo in this beautifully designed factory looking nose cone.
they had some installed on there SlingShots they had at SSITS
That nose cone from underground auto sticks out a bit more...
Painter did exactly that (what he described) to mine... It is so nice! And smooth!
We can ask about Toi's nose @ericastar76... @DKF Texas is probably already on it...
