Slingshots Skyline Drive Ride to Big Meadows

@WraithSS I wish I could make it for this event, but I am leaving on 8/9/17 for Madisonville, Louisiana. Taking the Sling down for 12 days and hopefully meeting up with @Rob the Slob, @Bill Martin, and possibly @MiM to check out his new paint job.

Now that's interesting. Skyline was on my SSS To Do List. Not working that weekend, too. Is your plan to start from the Front royal Side, or cut across to the Thorton Gap Entrance?

This sounds like a great idea. I may have to meet you guys at the Meadows, though. My good friend @Bu11sh1t and his lovely wife will be visiting us during that timeframe. I can't think of a better way to introduce them to the real guys that make up the "Wrecking Crew"!!!!

Count me in. Depending on which route you take I will probably meet you at the Park entrance since it is way closer to me than your meeting spot. Let me know your thoughts on this.

Wish we could be there @WraithSS ... @sideslinger and I are out of the country until late August.

Sounds good. Just make everybody aware that it is quite a good distance from the Front Royal entrance to Great Meadows, and at a well enforced 35 MPH limit and weekend traffic. As food for thought you might consider coming south on 29 to 211 west in Warrenton. Probably a better ride on a hot August day and the Thornton Gap entrance gets you much closer to the target.

It's 45min from Harris Teeter to FR start.
Entire Skyline is approx 106 miles.
Might make the whole run and camp at
Residence Inn by Marriott Waynesboro

Darn, I saw the thread title & got excited for a moment, I thought this might be referring to the "Skyline Blvd" in CA which is great Motorcycle ride (State Hwy 35)

(Just south of the SF Bay-Area, Skyline Blvd is a curvy mountain top ride and has a fun stopping point at "Alice's Restaurant". Remember that Arlo Guthrie song? (and film) "You can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant..." )
