Well I can't complain that much haven't been able to do much with the SS cause I'm still recovering from my finger incident. First thing I'm doing is Rabs headlight Mod but here are some pics from work not a bad gig for a retired USAF vagrant wanabe.

That was about the time I was walking in the door last night. Just got in from Northern Indiana 7 hr drive back.

I prefer working emergency response at night. That's when most of the "interesting" calls happen. Also plenty of time for forum browsing.

I could probably show a picture of some of the OLD wooden storm windows I
painted this week----not really to cool to look at but it does give me $$$.$$ for gas for the Slingshot. As a residential painting contractor I do some neat homes
just not for a motorcycle forum. -

In college I dispatched for our police department from 11pm-7am. I can say it was 96% boring and 4% insane. The only part I absolutely hated was when someone called in with a small child not breathing or something similar. I could handle screaming adults in car wrecks and adults that we're having chest pains. But as soon as I heard a person say something about a small child or baby with something terrible happening your world stops around you and you go into a "get shit done super fast mode".
Fun stuff is when they bust a guy for stealing the Shriners go cart and he is driving around town drunk in it. Pretty much a innocent crime where he is the only one that could get hurt.
You are spot on with kid calls. I can't tell you what I ate last weak, but I can tell you every detail of every infant/child call I've ever been on. Those calls stay with you.
On a lighter note, I will share a funny call that is somewhat gear head related. We get a EMS call at our local O'Reilly's for an electrocution. My partner and I jump in the ambulance for an emergency response. Upon arrival an O'Reilly's employee meets us. This guy frantically explains that a customer was installing a car battery in his vehicle and got electrocuted. I believe my expression was similar to a puppy that is confused by something. My response was, What! He then further explained that the car battery contained 750 amps and it got him good. But wait, it gets better. We get the cot out of the truck and proceed to the patient. U guessed it, we were then confronted by the patients meth headed gf complete with sores and eating air biscuits. Air biscuits are my phrase for describing methheads chewing on air and biting their lips. Refer to YouTube for videos of these people. She further explained that he was electrocuted by the car battery and tripped over a parking buffer, striking his head on the concrete. She said he then stopped breathing and she knew better to touch him because the electricity was still in him. So, after dealing with 2 "special" people, we make it to our patient who is standing up rubbing the back of his head. According to the patient, he was tightening the cable on the battery when his wrench contacted the frame of the vehicle. The sparking scared him and he tripped over the parking buffer and fell striking his head. We offered transport but the patient deferred.
I do miss working municipal emergency response for the stories. I have since moved on into Instrustial Safety and Emergency Response.

Georgia and I have volunteered with the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and
the Ride for Kids for 12 years. Some heart breaking stories of what these young
Kids and Families go thru. Because the Families and Kids come out to the Ride
we get to meet and get to know them particularly in are small community with lots of Kids with problems... Want to see a big burly Biker cry, come to a Ride for Kids event. -

Mostly I just like to ride and the two work pretty well "as my Wife see it".
