Alfa,. can you make the equipment to make a SS achieve 180 MPH?

Alfa and Bullet are the tops of the list. But neither would have anyone in a SS going 180. I still have that Sonic card! And they are offering a tiny weenie special!

Guess I'm disqualified...

I'm glad that I'm not the only one with delusions!

Go big or go home! Just don't PM me about the size of my peanuts (other forum)

Need GPS. 150 on the Speedo is higher than actual

I've used that excuse many times. The ladies no longer believe me. Too late...

Is this the Ditto thread?
Am looking for the Ditto thread... Y'all seen it?

Oh yeah, Alfa never responded. I don't blame them, there was no way to enhance business. After all. this is all about the $$. Over there this post would not last minutes. On the Corvette forums one mention of a "Corvette Tax" will get you sent to "time out".
Henry responded - just wasn't an answer to the question

Andy (from Alpha) went 165 in mine during initial shakedown on the V8 - he said there was way more power but the front was lifting bad (still had full hood). I've seen 145 with a passenger monitoring gps speed.
That's over 400whp, a 6 speed with better 5th gearing and I've aerodynamically changed mine.
If I can gather up enough manparts I might try the Texas Mile with it after the additional 60ish hp is tuned.
-
I have a few extra man parts... I'll give it a shot

You may not like me anymore because I made a mistake in calculating the front area whereas I left out the windscreen which adds anywhere from 5 to 7 square feet. It's more like 728 hp needed for 180 mph.
I think a cd of 1.0 is way, way too high. A 2005 Jeep wrangler with top off is .58. The Sling has to be a little better than that - every surface on that jeep is nearly perpedicular to the oncoming air.
-
Very true Tango but the tail on a tri-wheel is just vacuum. I love my Sling for what it was. I tried to "fix" my first wife. That did not work out either.
-
Personally, I would be pumped to have a verified speed over 150mph.
That is really fast in an open air vehicle. -

I'd ride two wheels at over 150 (and have) rather than ride three wheels over 120mph. Physics are just the ground rules (pun intended).

You're probably right but the Sling is a lot wider.. using .5 puts the need at 375 hp and .75 at 550 hp. Some boosted Slings exceed the 375 hp but I doubt any of them could do 180.

Flybuddy, you are imposing science over testerone. You will only win when evolution figures it all out.
-
I still can't for the life of me figure out who is arguing with you or science @Cape Sling . The show "Outrageous Acts of Science" is full of testosterone doing science rather than calculating it. Some do, those that can't teach.

Let's not go there Wolf, My ex was a professor. Flybuddy has most of the caculations correct, less the top.
