It's probably a dry seal! LOL

zactly, a good grease to keep things wet is a plus....synthetic..:) high temp.

I wonder if the new grease-free u-joint can be used to replace the original u-joint? Also, is it worth the cost? I was wondering about the use of the original greased u-joint as I haven't had a car in years that required greasing.

This may be a dumb question but what brand and what type of grease you all recommend for the Slingshot?
I went with Amsoil with Synthetic Multi-Purpose Grease NLGI #2. Wisdom from folks smarter than me all recommended any good brand with the NLGI #2 rating.

I'l have to re-learn the whole grease procedure again- just won't seem right if the first few tries don't spew grease all over the damn place, needing half a roll of paper towels to clean the mess up!

Folks, discussion is great, descriptions are great, but Sam Owens will show you how to do what all these really great guys are telling you how to do. Together we will concur. Now watch what has been discussed.

I also have a view of the Drive Shaft area and access from underneath the Slingshot. This will also show you how the Front of The Drive shaft has a different type of joint at the front of the Drive Shaft. You would need to raise the Slingshot and prepare it for safe entry under your slingshot. You still will need the Needle Nozzle.
The Underneath view is towards the end of the video.
