Wondering what springs everyone is running just recently swapped to green and yellow but didn't get chance to drive since it started to rain and was heading away for weekend. Was wondering what you turbo guys were running and how it was driving. I was having a good amount of enrichment with red and natural.gonna see how it drives with differnt springs. I know to expect a few more horses
What spring or springs are you running?

I am running just a green.
Dave tried several different combos when we dyno'd but my exhaust is to restrictive.
Running a Hahn Turbo with a Hahn Side exhaust on a DDM forged engine.
I could get more hp and better flow with the race exhaust but it is just to loud for daily driving.
still managing 382+ at the rear wheel with over 400lbs of torque - eats a tire every 3K
Yea I smile a lot -
I run the natural and yellow spring.

I run the natural and yellow spring.
I thought you had the boost controller working

Red + Natural springs with ARP head studs added.

I run the natural and yellow spring.
So you are running mostly off the scg-1 I assume and assuming 4.5 lbs is your safety spring rate. Now I thought the scg1 would only allow to carry you only double your spring rate ? @MACAWS you still need a spring in the scg1 if you are using it
-
Scg1 will allow you to go as high as you want. I have duty cycle at 20% and I peak at about 12.5. If I go to 25% I get 14ish.
The 4psi springs are my fail point. If AFR isn't where it needs to be then I am on spring pressure.
It's so much easier to adjust the scg1 than to pop the top of the wastegate and change springs.
Neither the Alpha or the Hahn in their native configuration will allow the use of the scg1. They spool way to fast and the controller bounces it down and then you get this pogo effect. Lots of time and work went into getting the right flow thru the turbo to allow it to work.

Running Natural & Red in mine, with ARP head studs. I strongly suggest people invest in the ARP head studs and torque properly. If you decide not to go with them, at least take the time to re-torque all the stock studs. When Alpha was doing the install, they found 4 of the stock studs nowhere close to being torqued correctly at the factory!!!

@rabtech I have the scg-1 installed aswell and agree would have been a lot easier to turn up the duty cycle but just spools to fast. My turbo spools even faster then alphas normal setup since I have the top mount they used a different turbo, its a newer style dual ball bearing.also wanted to know how you tuned it in? wAs it the haltech or was it the exhaust work ? Did you modify you fuel system? Add a return ? Or was it a combination of it all?
-
different compressor and turbine housing. And tons of porting and exhaust work. Dave could fill you in on the details. I just watched for 3 days while he worked with grinders and welders and I just paid the invoices as different turbo parts came in. And I do have a haltech ecu but I use the sgc1 boost controller to control boost.
-
I understand that ur using the scg as boost controller but did the haltech have any part in how helping the scg1 work correctly or was it working right with just the other mods you did to your turbo set up

@Dave@DDMWorks any way you can help and let us know what helped most making the scg1 work right
