Nice Blue Footed Boobies.
I would rather drive a Yugo than a Toyota
That coming from a guy that owns a Honda, GMC and Polaris
Actually I've never owned a Toyota but my wife has one and its a great car. Just wanted to install some comic relief. In my younger days Honda was not known as a well built car but they recognized that and really turned it around!
Anyway, wasn't the Yugo aka the thing? I'll bet that ugly thing is well sought after today. I actually saw one a few months back in really good condition.

actually the "Thing" was a Volkswagen - designed like a German military vehicle
Volkswagen Thing
Yugo's were just ugly cars made in Yugoslavia

The Thing was made by V.W. The Yugo was made in Yugoslavia. The best option on the Yugo was the rear window defroster. It kept your hands warm when you had to push it to the side of the road when it quit running.
Display MoreWe just got a Volvo S60 - - assembled in South Carolina we also have a Chevy that was actually built by Daewoo in South Korea - - and then of course the Slingshot that was assembled in Alabama - but I have no clue where the GM ecotec or the transmission were made, but there is a good chance the Kenda's that came on it were made in China - - or Taiwan - - or Indonesia - - or perhaps Vietnam
I would actually like to know if there is actually any vehicle offered for sale in the U.S. that has 100% of its parts sourced in the U.S. with final assembly also in the U.S.
does such a beast exist?
Interestingly I was back at the Volvo dealer a week or so back and I was looking at the information sheet on the S90 - its primarily made in China and so is its motor
Glad we got the S60 - no China anything listed and assembled Volvos first U.S, plant -
Politicians and the American buying public drove OUR manufacturing overseas

REALLY???? Talk about Greedy People.
pull the Plug on that Swamp!
there is no vehicle made 100% with American parts, but trump wants to increase the number of American parts used in our vehicles...
20 countries that supply much our medical stuff, drugs equipment, 10 have stopped shipping to us.....
it could be the only up side to this pandemic....we are quickly learning relying on foreign supply chains is a recipe to disaster ....in a disaster ..
hire American and buy American....
If your job has been designated nonessential think about that, I'm sure your boss is.

I am sure this virus and its impact on how things are done will be long lasting - some jobs might never come back and other new jobs may be created - - - in the end those that adapt the best will be the most secure going forward.
we will not go back to being the same country....this has changed ways of doing business, how and where we do business...
Many deficiencies have been exposed....and corrected or soon will be.. this has to do with manufacturing, supply, shipping, innovation, preparedness....(toilet paper)
It should also wake up groups of people to stop voting for people that push socialism, everything is free, everything is green.
If we waited for the industrial revolution to happen with “green energy” we would still be living in caves and clubbing animals...
quit hogging the saber tooth skin Wilma...
if fossil fuels are so bad....show us your commitment .....park your car, turn off the gas and electric, start carrying water From the creek, plant a garden and go hunting for meat everyday. Chop firewood for cooking it over a fire.

So, essentially are you saying fossil fuels are the best we have and ever will have, stop trying for better? Stay with the sticks and rocks we know?
Nice argument

wouldn’t it be great if we could just “flip a switch” to drop fossil fuels and convert over to new green energy....
so far the effort has been a major failure because of lack of the necessary technology to make it efficient and cheap.
If I have to pay double or triple for my current (pun intended) energy needs ...I don’t want it...and not everyone will be able to afford it...
we are decades away from economical green energy.....so stop using fossil fuels immediately and ..go back to your cave....and wait for the green stuff....
doesn’t mean we can develop it....but if it doesn’t happen in the next ten years we will all be dead anyway...AOC said it....it must be true......North to Alaska go North the rush is on....

Always strive to improve what you have. By improve I mean make it better. Unfortunately most "green energy" alternatives aren't as cost effective or efficient as fossil fuels. With the vast reserves the need to switch isn't pressing. Use the best option until you create a better one. Keep innovating.
PT Barnum has new green deal LED lightbulbs for sale that will save you money and last for 10 years ... just $9.95 each.....and you need hazmat suits and equipment to safely dispose of them...and for gods sake don’t break one....you’ll have to turn yourself in...
in the fine print ...your actual years may vary..by 9.5 years...
I’ve never had one last 6 months.....who’s the freakin new green idiot....
