I agree, when a politician diverts tax money intended for the benefits of the very people who pay those taxes I need a better explanation than "it's the right thing to do".
How can anyone expect any country (not just Mexico} to correct the very issues which are causing people to flee those countries if the U.S. simply continues to give up its resources. It will never change bad situations in forign countries and will only continue to hurt our country for generations. I believe President Trump raised the option of efforts to establish settlements within countries in need and providing aid at that location. The U.N. could step up and monitor.
Sounds good to me and a very important issue could be solved as it wouldn't leverage the idea of political gain.

I am afraid it is too late - for years we have allowed the far left to indoctrinate the children in our public schools and this has been going on for generations and now these "children" are slowly but surly becoming the majority of our voting age population - as the number of voters born in the 40's to 70's is getting smaller the number of well trained liberal AOC type voters born in the later years is getting larger and larger - the far left has been working on this and training the youth for generations and even if we were to take back our schools right now today it would take 40+ years to undo the damage that has already been done - think about it, How long has the far left been pushing their agenda in our schools, when did they start this plan? 1980? earlier perhaps? and how many kids from then to now are voting age now and how many more will there be in another 10 to 20 years?
As much as it pains me to think about I just dont see any way this damage gets undone without this country and our youth having to learn the hard way that socialism doesn't work.
Moderate Democrats, Centrists, Conservatives - - we are a dying breed, dinosaurs, and its only a matter of time before there simply won't be enough of us left to hold off the well trained liberal youth that we allowed the extreme left to train in our schools.
The math just doesn't work, we didnt see it coming and where it wanted to take us until they had been at it for 40 years or more and you can't just undo that in a day

Here is just one passage and how it is defined by the founders:
"“When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.”

So just to put it in correct terms "separation of Church and State" was intended to set in stone that the Government would not be run by or conform to only one religion but is in fact built on a devotional foundation .... this fact is often misinterpreted or skewed to fit an agenda but still remains clearly defined ....
Now if we can just bring "women's health" in to this conversation we can cover all three horsemen of the public conversation apocalypse ......

It's not often I agree with Wolf, but I certainly do with the God thing. This country was founded on a separation, that's one reason they had to leave England! Our national motto was not "In god we trust" when founded, but "e pluribus unum" (one country from many states.) It was changed in response to the "Communist" threat. "Under God" was NEVER in the pledge of allegiance (look it up!), but once again thrown in there during the fifties in response to the "Communist" threat. Pray as you wish in churches and temples and mosques, but keep public education secular. It's the right thing.

Our schools should not teach religion - that is not their job, but this does not mean that individuals should not be allowed to practice their belief system / religion when they are at school.
If a teacher or student wants to pray when they are on their own time between classes they should be allowed to do so and if others want to join them they should also be allowed to do so - - just so long as it is not mandated by anyone in a position of real or perceived authority.
We are supposed to have Freedom of Religion - not freedom from religion as such anyone should be free to observe their faith whenever and wherever they choose - and if you are offended by seeing someone else observe their faith thats your problem not theirs - you should walk away instead of asking that they stop
We should all be free to observe the belief system of our choice and we should also all be free from being told by others what they want us to believe - - the only exception in schools should be classes specifically set up to study religion and these classes should be 100% neutral and not push any one religion, including Atheism, over any other
Personally I don't care for the religion of atheism, but if that is your belief system then I will defend your right to believe what you wish - - I also expect you to give me the same respect and to allow me to follow my belief system - - - the one thing that pisses me off more than just about anything else is when people think it it their right to push what they believe in my face - - unfortunately it seems that this is done as much if not more by those that follow the atheist belief system than just about any other belief system I am aware of - with a few possible exceptions the Atheists seem to be the one belief system that feels the most need to tell other people what to think or that what they believe is wrong and that really pisses me off!
Oh and before someone tries to tell me Atheism is not a religion - Atheists fight for and win Federal recognition and protection as a Religion - So The court ruled that Atheism or "Secular Humanism" as its sometimes called is a religion for purposes of the Establishment Claus of the Constitution as such it should be given all of the rights of freedom of religion, but it also should not be favored over any other religion or be allowed to be taught in our schools you cant ask for the protections and then want to be excluded from the restrictions - sorry it just doesn't work that way.
As a side note if it might help anyone understand this post I consider myself to be a Christian and I really hope and pray that everyone be fortunate enough to find what I have found. Having said this I also don't believe my God needs me to be His sales person and He doesn't need a pushers trying to get people addicted - that is something that other "gods" might need, but not mine
So there you have it - my thoughts on religion and religion in our education system - - considering how sensitive some can be on this subject I will not comment further on this subject - I love you all

I think it's oblivious I am a republican. My wife is also. We do not discuss politics openly. Perhaps we should have. Our oldest (my Step) grandchild lives with us. She is in collage now but it became very apparent when she was in 7th grade she walked by the TV when I had Bill O'reilly on. She let me know how much she hated him. I politely asked if she ever took the time to listen to his show. She said no.
I have a niece who graduated High School last year. She is a republican & has told me multiple times that she wouldn't dare express her views as teachers would belittle anyone who leans republican.

As I mentioned in a prior post when I got my mail in primary ballot I was very disappointed. being registered as a Libertarian my ballot had no one on it except a bunch of people I never heard of - here in California the Republican primary is closed and the Democrat primary is only open to people who are registered as Democrats or "no party preference" - being registered as libertarian closed me out of having any real choices - I was angry so I went online and reregistered as a Republican I figured having already received a ballot I would have to wait until the November election to get to vote. but I could deal with that. - - - - well turns out I was wrong, despite having already been sent the Libertarian primary ballot (which I threw away) yesterday I received a Republican primary ballot - - I made all of my choices and mailed it off today
