  • I have to wonder if Kamala thinks that Michelle Obama would have the same problem getting voters?

And if Michelle wouldn't (and you know she wouldn't) then how would Kamala explain that?

  • Totally amazing how you guys can spend so much time talking about the totally brain dead part of politics. But then if you took out the brain dead part of politics that wouldn't leave much left to talk about. Carry on gentlemen, your doing just fine.

  • I voted in PA today

Got my mail in ballot a few weeks ago - only thing on it was one City counsel seat that three guys are running for - dont know anything about any of them and its not a partisan thing so no information is given about any party affiliation they might have - - anyway I decided just to skip it and save the postage.

Normally I feel the local elections are the most important because they have the most direct impact on my life, but as much as I looked I really couldnt find any significant difference between the three options

oh well - - - hate to say it, but I didn't vote today

Don't feel alone... 50 to 60 % of the American people don't vote anymore at all.

well I normally vote, it is unusual for me to not vote, but this particular election I don't have the information I would need to make any meaningful distinction between the three candidates - given this I feel I had no real choice - voting without knowledge is to my mind worse than not voting at all. Actually I cant remember an election like this before where there was nothing else on the ballot but one thing - - oh well

  • Agreed, typically local elections don't involve much candidate information. Just a bunch of road postings with names along with flyers taking cheep shots that may or may not be true/half true?

I voted as always. Still my vote in NJ carries as much worth as a boulder thrown to a drowning person that can't swim. I take pride in my residence and maintain it in a well cared for condition. For a few years I actually swept the road in front of my house to clean up the crumbling roadway. But at this point its useless. I also pay crazy high property taxes along with all the other ridiculous taxes.

Check out my front road. It didn't get that way overnight. But, hay fixing the road would only bring the potential for a few votes. Tax payer money is much better spent giving away free services that have the potential for thousands of votes. Still I vote. Politics suck!

  • In my county many subdivision streets are only maintained by the city or county. They are actually owed by the residents. There was one particular sub that was horrendous. Many of the homeowners came out to yell at us while we simply did our job of patching the road. They would yell, "When are you guys going to fix these roads"? I would respond, "We only patch it. If you want it fixed pass the millage that you and your neighbors declined the last 3 times. You guys own the road, not the city and not the county. Give your neighbors all that attitude".

If you don't think voting is important.

If you don't think Democrats will dismantle the parts of the constitution they don't like.

If you don't think "crazy Beto" was only crazy because he told the truth out loud.

If you think the Democrats don't really want a disarmed and defenseless populace to try their suicidal socialist experiments on, then take a look at the article above.

The gist is, let's make all common ammunition illegal. Then we can replace it with calibers noone uses and "all old guns will become paperweights".

Once we introduced "new calibers", you would have to buy new guns, and we could control (throttle) sales, register everyone, and effectively disarm and dominate the public.

    Yeah, I'm voting.

    TRUMP 2020!

The smarter you get, the funnier I am.

  • Government keeps all their toys - we get the shaft. I think I’ve seen this before.

We’ll get there when we get there and not a minute before. 😎

  • You do understand that was an opinion article, that merely was talking about what if's, right? There was no call to implement it and really no indication as to which side the author leans on the subject.

I think Target has a sale on tin foil if you need any.;)

It was an opinion article, AND precisely a call for implementation. I cannot say how you can claim that "there is really no indication as to which side the author leans on" when they cite a specific plan to circumvent the 2nd amendment by attacking and banning ammunition in order to makes guns useless. That seems rather clear.

I'm pretty sure that if there is an "implied right of privacy" in the constitution which has been cited in many court decisions, then there is also an implied protection on ammunition in the right to bear arms - which shall not be infringed. And a call to infringe upon the constitutional 2A rights is EXACTLY what this author is calling for.

I dunno if Target has a sale on tin foil (I don't shop there anymore), but I do know that they have reading glasses. Alas, glasses only help you see, they do not help you understand.

The smarter you get, the funnier I am.

  • Well... that only fixes half our problems. What do we do when our half sucks just as bad but in different ways? Both party's run around whining, crying cause they have poopy pants.

Alas, I see and understand. That is what happens when I glance through something at work. Sorry about that. You were correct on the author's position and his view of a good plan. But he is just some random guy in some obscure paper(if it's a paper) giving his opinion. To be so scared when he has done nothing more than me here and holds as much power as me here, seems a little silly.

You know, Walmart probably sells Aluminum foil. I wouldn't know. Alas, aluminum foil only helps you feel protected personally, it doesn't help your over active imagination.

Target has been on my do not buy from for around 20 years.

Thanks for the info. Our road is currently coded yellow for resurface. Conditions are assigned as green, yellow & red. Hoping it gets reassessed to red soon! It needs it but at the same time I am dreading it so it doesn't tie-up the sling in the garage. But new repaving processes seem go quick.

I actually have seen some neighborhoods with a central landing strip for private aircraft. After landing the pilots pull into their private garages. As you can see this doesn't apply to my neighborhood. Possibly if the 2021 slingshots are upgraded to autoaircraft I will upgrade! :)

    Thanks!

  • What did Target do? I know Walmart drove a lot of American manufacturing overseas. Did Target do the same?

Back during the Gulf War I think it was Target and Star Bucks would not support our troops. There was more to it than just that and besides at the time Target was owned by the French. To many years ago for me to remember all of the details. But I still do not buy from either one. Even if things are different now I will never buy from either one.

Things changed a lot when we went into Iraq. McDonald's, Pizza hut and others beat the troops to the war. They were not war mongers, they were money mongers. They wanted to make as much money off the troops as possible before the troops left for home in body bags. At Lowes before we went into Iraq roll around trash carts were 35.00, After we went in those trash carts went to 100.00 along with many other items they sell. Good ol corp America always looking out for themselves but not caring about anyone else.
