Based on them winning the last 4 popular votes for President... I guess, the majority of voting Americans is their base.
They voted for OB even though they knew all of use were getting screwed. If he had been trying to take care of the American voting public and the USA, I would not say that.

Well - I would have to disagree with you. Hillary did win the popular vote, but at 48.5% she did not get a majority of voting Americans to vote for her. It is a fact that more voting Americans in the 2016 election voted against Hillary than voted for her.
when you add to this the fact that of the people eligible to vote only 55.7% of those even bothered to actually show up nobody came close to getting a majority of anything - - a huge majority of Americans either voted for someone else or didnt even give a crap
At this point I think it would be much less politically damaging for the Democrats if they allow the funding than it would be for Trump if he caves.

I honestly don't care if he gets the wall or not. I won't see it from my house, feel the effects in my life one way or the other. Yes I think it will be pretty much useless because determined people will get in regardless, drugs will get in regardless, terrorists will get in regardless...which to me makes it a waste of money. Do I care who wins this little, childish fight? No.

It is a cheap price to pay when you think about what it is going to cost to support these illegals per year. The money they are already getting from the gov. and health care that we are paying for at our hospitals nation wide. The money for the wall is just a drop in the bucket when compared to this cost to us.

This is an interesting post to reply to, so let me break it into sections
first - have you really listened to Trumps base? I think they are a much more diverse group than seem to think - I would guess that most members here on this forum could be considered his base, especially if supporting border security and a wall makes you his base. Heck I didnt vote for him and I don't much like him, but on this subject I support him 100% and if he stands firm and delivers it very well could insure he gets my vote in 2020
as to the wall - you seem to dismiss it because it wont be perfect, and I agree, it wont, people will still get past it and so will drugs, But I dont expect it to be perfect or to fix everything and I think acting like it shouldn't be done because it isnt perfect is total B.S.
To me if the wall can save one life and even partially stem the flow of drugs it is more than worth doing - - if you look at the amount of crime associated with our southern border even a small percentage of success in stopping that would be huge and is easily worth 5.7 billion
As to "looking like a Democrat" - - on this subject yes you are looking a bit like one, but then again I assume that to you on this subject I look like a Republican to you

I would get around that wall. Especially if I walked 2000 miles to get there,

lets have fun with this - people eligible to vote = 100%, 55.7% voted and of that 55.7% only 48.5% voted for so of the 100% eligible to vote 27.01% voted for Hillary
so less than 1/3 of eligible voters actually wanted Hillary bad enough to go out and vote for her - - - not exactly what I would call a mandate

That is correct. From what was said if the Border Security bill comes in first they might get the rest approved. I hope this is the way it will be.
