I heard somebody, I think on SNL, give an explanation to your query Bill. The reason the middle of the country stays red and the coastal states are blue is because people from the middle of the country send their liberal children to coastal colleges, thereby creating and reinforcing the states they hate so much.

the only issue I have with term limits is do they still get all the damn retirement benefits? I think we should get rid of all retirement benefits for the government and let people pay into their 401K with some kind of government match that meets the industry standard
They get retirement benefits after serving one term (about 5000.00 a month). Tom Delay was bitching about how hard it was to live on that kind of money. Yeap once you no longer have those champagne funds to live on and have to live like a normal person things get kinda tough for them good ol boy politicians. But now most are getting wealthy doing insider trading and being bought and sold like pigs going to market by big money. Even Tom Delay's mommy don't like him (from a news article I read).

Remember, if you are in the doors by midnight, they have to let you vote. Also, if you voted for Trump, your ballot is automatically submitted as straight ticket Republican, you only have to show up if you want a non-republican in any of the races.

Just returned from my local polling place...was very pleased to see a steady line of folks lined up to vote. I hope they all voted MY way but most of all I glad they got out to VOTE.
This being election day I decided to jump in...
Jim Carrey is in the news with this back-and-forth with Ted Cruz of Texas. I would like to suggest that Jim Carrey give away everything he has and move to Cuba, gain legitimacy, and give socialism a try. Not holding my breath
Why Oklahoma has a red wave, Voter ID and paper ballets. There is no dead people or illegals voting Democrat here.

but in the end, even if our state government is a hollyweird creation I still love my California - my disappointment in the politics and government is more than made up for by my beaches, mountains & deserts.
I took Election Day off. I will watch fox and flip over to the other stations every once in awhile. Hope for a great result to keep America Great Again!
